I'll also be more than happy to talk to you on the phone about the car, just message me and I'll send you my number. 88' Formula, red with grey interior, automatic transmission, no sunroof. Manual windows/mirrors. Original black mesh wheels. 139k on the odometer. Runs reliably (idles a bit high/hunts), shifts good. The Bad: - Engine has very low oil pressure at warm idle. Starts high on the gauge, but is very near the red at stops when it's been driven for a while. Oil pressure is fine when driving. There's plenty on the forum about what could cause this, the main suspect is worn bearings. - Battery tray is kaput. There is also a rust hole below where the battery tray goes. None that I can see on the frame. I have a new, never used battery tray plus support to go with the car. - Needs motor mounts. Little more vibration than usual, but the biggest hint is that when you shift into reverse, it gives a nice *thunk* as the engine pivots a bit. - Needs tires. Current Falkens have good tread wear, but have dry rot cracking. - It's missing its A/C compressor. The rest of the A/C stuff appears to be all there, but the compressor is MIA. - Pass. side headlight doesn't want to work. It's been rebuilt (new bushings), but won't come up. Haven't looked into it more. - Brakes could use bleeding/checking into. They stop the car fine, but are mushy. - Needs passenger's side sail panel and Pontiac emblems. Missing all the emblems, actually, including the FORMULA decals for the doors. I assume these were removed when it was repainted. The Good: - Starts and runs every time. No leaks, doesn't overheat. Does idle high. There are some disconnected vacuum lines/wires at the EGR solenoid, so fixing that would probably help things. I have the connector/wires to fix the solenoid connector, would be a quick soldering job to fix. - New water pump, oil pressure sender, plugs/wires/cap/rotor. - Other than the battery tray, no rust. - Body panels are in good condition. There is a crack in the rear bumper cover. - Interior is in good shape. Seats are very good (recovered in original Pontiac fabric). Has the usual damage to the dash corners and warpage, plus a couple of dash cracks. Does not have original dot matrix panels. The headliner has been recovered with suede and has the Fiero pegasus sort of embossed into it. Sun visors are also suede. - Paint is a good 15 ft paint job. Has some cracking, some overspray onto trim. Obviously a cheaper job, but looks decent enough. Overall it's a project, but a great start for someone with the time, space, and money to put into it. Any oil you see on the frame or on the ground is from me not tightening the mechanical oil pressure gauge down enough (used one to check that the new sender was working correctly).On May-01-11 at 15:00:05 PDT, seller added the following information: The issue of the engine having a non-engraved plenum was brought up by a sharp eyed Fiero enthusiast, something I forgot to mention in the description. I'm not sure whether only the plenum is different or the entire engine is from an older Fiero (engraved plenum was only 87'-88'). If anyone is aware of a way to ID the engine's year, shoot me an email. On May-01-11 at 18:51:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Looks like the engine is from an earlier Fiero. The rest of the car is stock 88', including brakes & suspension. Thanks to user rickmach1 for help in ID'ing the earlier engine.
