Up for auction is a 1970 Opel GT in need of some serious restoration work. It should be considered as a parts car as well, but I'm sure someone out there would want to try to save this one. The engine does run, but will need fuel pump and other work to make it driveable. You may have seen our previous ads for Opels on Ebay. We are a full service restoration shop in Cookeville, TN 38501. We restore all makes and models of vehicles...but we specialize in Opels ranging in all years. We are New Vintage Automotive at 134 Carr Avenue in Cookeville, TN 38501. I will do my best to reply with all the facts. This 1970 Opel GT is a 4 speed car with a 1.9. The car has lots of rust issues, but mainly has been built up with body filler all around. So I assume rust, but maybe it is just full of filler. I do not have the car for sale locally, and it will sell to the highest bidder. The car does have a clear TN title with all matching VIN tags in place, so it can be registered. without any issues. The underneath has had several strips of metal welded in to patch the floors, again, done in an ametuer fashion. Belly pan is gone, wire mesh has been placed on it and the cowl screen. I would only consider this car for parts, or a running engine and all the small stuff. Super turbo spoiler goes with the car!!! Wheels are a 13 inch honda wheel and are probably sought after by the Honda crowd. There are 4 wheel spacers with it. No front bumper included. This is a 70, with 69 instrument panel, and a later year 4 speed trans. Take it for what it is, a running parts car or extreme project. Now in the pic are some current pics of our shop, none of these cars are for sale. The blue GT is back for some mechanical repairs, the red one next to it is a Targa car that spent some of its life in England. The Black GT is a rotisserie restoration with heavy rust repair, and the other red one is a rust free car out of Denver for a full restoration. We specialize in the GTs, but also deal in Kadetts, Mantas, and Asconas. Even early Kadetts and Rekords. Notice the GT in the background on the rotisserie, that is a future Targa roof car...we may be producing the kit soon to convert your GT into one. I had one guy bid to see what it was up to, please be serious about bidding, I haven't had this problem before on Ebay, maybe because it is not on the higher end scale of cars...but bid if you are sure you can afford it, you have preapproval from your wife or signifcant other...you know what I mean. The only car for sale here is the maroon one with black spoiler pictured several times in the ad. It is going to sell to the highest bidder, so if that is what you bid, and someone cancels...you still need to be prepared to win this auction.
