For Sale - 1996 Chevy Tahoe LT - runs very good, has transmission problem. It will shift into all gears including reverse, however in third gear and overdrive it starts to slip at around 35 mph. This vehicle will have to be towed if purchased! The rest of the vehicle is in good condition. As stated earlier it runs good, 4WD works great, interior in good condition with expected wear and tear. The 1996 Tahoe was Motor Trend's truck of the year, with good reason. It is a very nice truck. It has the following options: 4 doors with rear window hatch and tailgate, 4 wheel drive, driver side airbag, 5.7L Vortec V8 with Fuel Injection (255 hp), ABS, Power Steering, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Keyless Entry, Power Mirrors, Tilt Wheel, Cruise Control, LT Trim Package, Dual 12V outlets, AM/FM with CD and Cassette, Full Leather Seats, Tinted Windows, Entry Assist Running Boards, Front and Rear Chrome Bumpers, Heavy Duty Towing Package, 30 Gallon Gas Tank, Tuffy Floor Liners (Front and Back). The original wheels have been replaced with 17" Chevrolet Z71 Alloy Wheels, also in good condition. The only real mechanical problem with this truck that I know of is the transmission problem. I priced some used ones locally for as little as $200 up to $500, however I can't do this repair myself. If you are able to do this replacement or can rebuild the transmission you would have a very nice Tahoe for cheap! There is a small area on the roof of the truck where the paint is starting to fade, not really noticable from the ground. The tires are in fair condition.
