Vehicle Detail
Not too many of these around. 1964 Plymouth Valiant/Barrauda 2 door with the original 273 V8. This was the 1st year the Barracuda was introduced offered as an option for the Valiant of the A-Body from Plymouth. This would make a great project car. I came into this vehicle last summer. It was parked for 3 years in a residential driveway instead in the tall grass or mud at a farm. The body is pretty straight with some dings and dents that need to be addressed. - The interior: - I have an extra set of tail lights and instrument cluster that goes with the car. - The foam of the front seats is deteriorated and needs to be replaced (couple of companies sell these) - The headliner is in place but in ill repair - The seat frames are in good shape - Front Arm rests are missing (find these on Ebay pretty easy) - Vinyl coverings for seats and doors require replacement. (found a few companies that have ready made replacements in OEM colors) - Carpet, well, I am sure you can guess (easy stuff to find on EBay once again) - Motor and Tranny: - Starts & Runs pretty good - Transmission seems to work well but has a leak at the front seal - New Starter and no oil leaks to speak of - Other stuff - some rot in bottom of trunk - wiring could use some help - windshield is broken but these are easily found new on EBay and even local glass shops. - cannot open door from outside on drivers door for some reason - Minimal rust, see pics or ask for more detail I considered taking this on as a project when I came into it but not really into older cars but was intrigued by all the items I could find for it most reman or new. The entire interior can be replaced via Ebay seat foam and all. I even found a company that makes a drum to disc conversion for the front specific for this car and there are suspension upgrades for it too. Well, it looks like a fun project for someone who has the love and the time for it. The car does run and drive but I would not take it for a long haul until thoroughly checked. Car is sold AS-IS I have stated all I know about it and it is up to the buyer to arrange pickup/shipping!
