I am told this Alfa Spider has 58,941 original miles on it. The owner bought the car in 1991 took it home and parked it, it has been used as a shelf since then and was very dirty. We drained the fuel tank, changed the oil, installed a used fuel pump, some new hoses and replaced the brake master cylinder. We changed the plugs and lubed the cylinders, it turned right over, starts and runs. I have driven it a couple times around the block, it doesn't smoke, the transmission, differential and brakes feel good. The drive shaft thumps so it needs to be rebuilt and the tires are very old. The gas tank needs to be removed and cleaned as the fuel filter will clog after about 30 minutes run / idle time. The car seems to be completely original even the air pump, pellet style catalytic converter and plug wires. It needs cosmetic restoration, the top is torn as are the seats. The paint is bad and it has some dents and scratches, the trunk lid had plastic lay on it that was wet and stained the paint. The mechanicals; engine, trany, susp, steering and diff seem ok. The clutch feels good but will need a hydraulic slave cylinder soon as it is weeping. The suspension needs to be inspected but in my short drive was ok and the Alfa sits well. The only rust through is the rockers, the undercarriage and floor boards are solid with only a little corrosion around one of the large rubber floor board drain plugs. The spare tire well has surface rust but is solid. The fuel gauge does not work but the other gauges do work and the engine has good oil pressure. The lights also function. The electric windows work, the right door pocket needs to be adjusted as it hits the glass. The steering wheel is in very nice condition. This is a good restoration project or father son project. The low mileage engine and trany alone are worth more than my reserve on this car. We have a lot of respect for the Alfa Romeo brand and do not want to take a running Alfa off the road, please buy and restore this car or tell interested parties about it. Alfa parts are well supported in the aftermarket by Centerline, Vick and International Auto. The title is clear with the bank lean release and the Carfax is clean.
