Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S. Miles: on chassis: 36,650 miles on engine: 6,900 miles on transmission: 1,500 miles LOTS OF ADDITIONAL PHOTOS OF THE CAR CAN BE SEEN AT: http://jesslex.imgur.com/4738x Transmission: 6 speed manual Engine: 4-Cyl. 16 valve (VVTL-i) Doors: 2 doors with hatchback Interior: grey Year: 2000 Exterior: Super White, with custom red pinstripe Options: The GT-S features, with ABS, leather seats, side air bags, moonroof, rear spoiler, 6-disc CD changer Vehicle Description/Condition: I am the original owner of this car. This car has a 6 speed manual transmission. If you do not know how to drive a stick shift car, please do not bid on this car. The car has always had a garage to come home to and stored winters (covered with a soft car cover—to be included with the sale of the car). I will also include volumes I & II of the detailed Toyota Repair Manual and the Mulroney Sticker (the “window sticker”). The car has always passed the Wisconsin emissions tests without any problem. (Click on History Report for details) SGS Automotive Services, Inc. inspected the car on 1/7/2011 confirming car in great shape and operating without problem. (Drove the car maybe 30 miles since the inspection.) People who are unfamiliar with Toyota cars always think it is a brand new car. As you can see from the pictures, it is a beautiful car. And, it is a lot of fun to drive. I am selling the car because over the last couple of years I have not had much time to enjoy the car and I don’t see that situation changing for the foreseeable future. It is a shame to let her sit in the garage and I decided to see if I can put her in the hands of someone who will appreciate and enjoy the car. If the highest bid does not reach the reserve (but the bidding gets interestingly close), I might follow-up to see if there is someone who will give her a good place to live and enjoy her as much as I have. Please bid because you might still win her even if the reserve is not met. Set forth below is a history of the modifications to the car (in reverse order). As you will see from the pictures, the car has a "bolt-in" roll bar in it and the back seat area is not usable (due to the roll bar and the relocation of the battery). I have an extra rear bench seat and the seat backs in my basement and the winning bidder can have them with the car (in case you want to take out the roll bar and battery box and put the back seat and battery back to their original spots -- but even without the bar, I don't think anyone ever sat back there). The shoulder harness straps in the photo of the bar are not included in the sale. I will include the camera mount on the bar in the sale. Over the years, I've run the car in autocross and track time events, which aren't a lot different than spirited driving on back roads except you don't have to worry about on-coming traffic or a police car around the corner. As noted below, the engine and transmission are pretty fresh. The engine was replaced because of a defective pistion rod end that let a piston loose and that destroyed the motor. (I was driving in gear and the motor just shut down -- didn't even make any noise.) Toyota took the old engine back for study and helped cover the cost for the new engine replacement even though it happened outside the warranty period. After the new engine was put in (in 2007), I did the 500+/- mile break-in driving, ran a few autocross events in 2008 and after that didn't drive it much. Although, with spring in the air and F1 on TV again, I'm starting to convince myself that maybe I will be able to drive it more this year.... Any way, The buyer can have the many extra parts that I have for the car. The buyer does not have to take the extra parts. The buyer can pick and choose the parts he/she wants to take with the car. The extra parts include: -- the back seat bench and seat backs set mentioned above -- the car cover mentioned above -- the Toyota repair manuals mentioned above (basically unused, but nice to have) -- the original sway bars (front and back) -- original oil pan -- a set of front brake discs -- unused still in the box TRD brake pads -- unused TRD exhaust tip (still in the bubble wrap). -- the car also comes with two sets of wheels and tires: the GT-S wheels that have Pilot Alpin winter tires on them (I put those on early Novembers in case of an early snow and store the car over the winters on those tires) and a set of SSR Integral wheels with Falken Azenis "summer time" tires (they go on the car when we are safe from snow). The extra set of wheels and tires will fit in the back of the car (the roll bar makes for a good wheel rack) with room for extra parts. (In case you want to load up the car and drive it home.) The history of important modifications/add-ons: 1/4/2011; 36,600 miles, Started car to move car for the SGS inspection. Engine sounded great, but the check engine light turned on (wouldn't you know it). Took car to Toyota dealer for service. Car coded P1692. They replaced oil pressure switch and VVTL oil control valve after full compliment of diagnostic tests and inspections, including inspection of valves and oil cam bolts; car functioning properly (so the car had a thorough check-up compliments of seller). SGS inspection done 1/7/11 also confirming car functioning properly. 4/07/09; 35,218 miles, Toyota dealer installed Brembo slotted front rotors 3/31/09; 35,138 miles, new Toyota transmission installed by Toyota dealer (Trans started to make a little noise so I did a preemptive replacement) and dealer installed the air filter heat shield; Car has Redline MT-90 transmission fluid; Redline 5/30 motor oil; Wilwood 570 Hi-temp brake fluid. Car always serviced with top of the line fluids (provided by me to the Toyota dealer). 9/18/08; 34,407 miles, Toyota dealer installed new TRD sport muffler (The muffler is not a "race" exhaust so it is not much louder than the stock exhaust when cruising along; but when you step on the gas with a little extra vigor, it makes a really cool sound.) 6/14/07; 29,746 miles, Toyota dealer installed new Toyota engine control module and injectors and new Toyota short block, valves, crankshaft, et al. (due to damaged engine mentioned above); also dealer installed TRD short throw shifter and Fidanza lightweight flywheel and South Bend Clutch Stage 2 clutch kit (The clutch is just a bit stiffer than the stock clutch feel.) 1/2 through 1/25/07; 28,977 miles; Professional restoration/race shop installed roll bar and relocated battery box and corner weighted car. Roll bar is an Autopower bolt-in roll bar with shoulder harness bar and bolt-in cross brace (1.75" x .120 DOM) bought from i o port racing supplies. Roll bar is specifically manufactured for '00 Celica GT-S and the race shop that installed it was impressed with the quality and fit of the roll bar. 12/14/07; 28,927 miles, Toyota dealer installed Moroso oil pan with baffles, approx. 6-quart capacity, purchased from Monkey Wrench Racing 10/18/06; 28,885 miles, Professional restoration/race shop installed front and rear TRD coil-over springs, struts and swaybars and corner weighted car (The TRD suspension is not a "race" suspension. It's not a "buckboard" ride. A bumpy road is a bumpy road. The ride is not much different than with the stock suspension, but the swaybars make for great handling and turn-in.) 3/31/06; 23,995 miles, mounted the Falken Azenis RT-615 tires presently on the SSR wheels (size 215/45/16). In the winter, they are stored in my basement. (They cannot be used in the snow.) They have a lot of miles on them. Because I take these off in late fall and put them on in the spring, I’m not sure of the miles on them. If you are not good in the rain, you’d need to replace them. 4/13/04; 18,850 miles, Toyota dealer installed K&N Ram Air air intake 5/15/01; 7,508 miles, Toyota dealer installed TRD sport muffler with TRD exhaust tip 4/20/00; 1,540 miles, purchased the SSR Integral wheels 12/10/09; purchased the Pilot Alpin winter tires and had them mounted on the GT-S wheels. Because the car was stored over winters and I drove on these tires only in late fall and early spring (in case of a surprise snow storm), I’d estimate that the these tires have about 5,000 miles on them. In the summer months, these wheels and tires were stored in my basement, but they are 10 years old. 12/10/09; took delivery of the GT-S with 31 miles on the OD. Custom red pinstripe by Sid. Please note that I do not check my emails until late in the evening and so I may not be able to respond to inquiries until late the next evening. But I will respond. Please do not bid unless you are serious about buying the car and financially able to complete the transaction per the terms of sale. The winning bidder must comply with the sale terms set forth in this listing. As noted in the sale terms, the balance of the purchase must be paid via wire transfer. I will give the winning bidder a $25.00 credit against the balance to cover the buyer’s bank charge for the wire transfer. Terms of Sale: The winning bidder agrees to pay for the vehicle in full within seven (7) days after the auction ends and must pick up the vehicle from my location in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area within ten (10) days after the auction ends. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 must be paid within two (2) days after the auction ends and can be paid via Pay Pal or bank money order. The balance of the purchase price must be paid via confirmed wire transfer to my law firm’s trust account before the buyer can take delivery of the vehicle. The funds will be held in the firm’s trust account pending completion of the sale. If the buyer, upon inspection of the car, is not satisfied with the car, the wired funds will be promptly returned to buyer via wire transfer. Wire transfer instructions will be provided to the winning bidder. The vehicle will be sold “AS IS” and “WHERE IS”, without any representation, promise or warranty of any kind or nature, expressed or implied, except the warranty that I have good right and title to sell the vehicle.
