THE CAR HAS EVERY AVAILABLE OPTION, INCLUDING SEVERAL TECHNICAL AND DESIGN OPTIONS THAT ARE PRESENT ONLY ON 95 W140 BODY. IF YOU WANT THE REAL DEAL YOU DEFINITELY NEED THE 6.0L/V12, NOT THE 5.0L/V8. THEY MAY LOOK SIMILAR(FROM FAR AWAY), BUT THESE ARE 2 TOTALY DIFFERENT CARS. THE S600 IS 389HP, THE S500 IS 315HP, THE S600 INTERIOR IS TWO-TONE LEATHER, THE S500 NOT, USUALLY NO BURL WOOD ON THE STEERING WHEEL FOR THE S500, NO SUEDE HEADLINER(EXCEPT FOR SOME VERY LIMITED EDITION), ETC. EVEN TODAY YEARS LATER, IF YOU LOOK AT THE NEW TOP MODELS OF THE LUXURY MAKES(BENTLEY,ROLLS ROYCE,MERCEDES,BMW) THEY ARE 6.0L/12CYLINDERS; WHICH SHOWS HOW AHEAD OF IT'S TIME THIS CAR WAS. ALSO THE 1995 S600 HAS POWER FOLDING MIRRORS, POWER REAR-VIEW MIRROR, POWER SEAT BELT PRESENTERS, POWER REAR WINDOW SHADE AND MANY OTHER OPTIONS INCLUDING PARK-ASSIST STICK UP MARKERS, WHICH YOU CAN FIND ONLY ON A FEW YEARS OF THE MANUFACTURING OF THE S600, BECAUSE AFTER 1996 THEY ARE REPLACED BY THE PARKTRONIC SYSTEM THAT YOU CAN FIND ON MANY MAKES AND MODELS (EVEN THE CHEAP ONES) NOWADAYS. THE BEAUTIFUL AND CLASSY W140 DESIGN WAS COPIED BY MANY OTHER MAKES STARTING THE FIRST YEARS OF IT'S MANUFACTURING AND EVEN IN RECENT YEARS. EVEN THE NEXT BODY MODEL OF THE CL-CLASS THAT REPLACES W140 LOOKS IS NICE AND SPORTY, BUT NOTHING LIKE THE CLASS AND LUXURY THAT RADIATES FROM THE W140( PLUS ON THE TRUNK OF THE NEXT BODY MODEL IT SAYS "CL", NOT "S" WHICH IS THE ONLY LETTER THAT MEANS REAL MERCEDES). I'M DESCRIBING ALL THIS OPTIONS SPECIFIC FOR 1995 S600, BECAUSE IF YOU WANT TO BUY A TRUE CLASSIC CAR, NOT JUST SOME NICE OLDER VEHICLE, YOU HAVE TO GO FOR THE BIGGER, BETTER AND ALL THOSE OPTIONS AND LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE THE CAR UNIQUE. AND THIS YEAR OF THE MODEL IS EXACTLY THE CAR YOU NEED IF YOU WANT THE W140 COUPE. NOW ABOUT MY CAR IN PARTICULAR. IT'S IN OVERALL GOOD CONDITION. RUNS AND DRIVES, BUT IT'S IN SO CALLED "HOME LIMP MODE", WHICH AFFECTS HOW THE CAR SHIFTS AND THE TRACTION CONTROL-ASR(THE LIGHT IS ON). (WHEN I BOUGHT IT IT WAS OK) THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH THE TRANSMISSION, BUT WITH SOME OF THE LITTLE GADGETS AND COMPUTERS THAT TELL THE ENGINE HOW TO IDLE AND TO THE TRANSMISSION WHEN AND HOW TO SHIFT. THERE CAN BE SEVERAL REASONS FOR THAT AND USUALLY IS THE THROTTLE BODY ACTUATOR(2 OF THEM ON V12). THIS WAS REBUILD(WITH NO LUCK) AND THEN REPLACED WITH ANOTHER USED IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION, BUT NOTHING HELPED. THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR, THE WIRING HARNESS AND THE ECU MODULE ARE THE MOST EXPENSIVE PARTS THAT CAN CAUSE THE PROBLEM AND THEY ARE ALL REPLACED, BUT STILL NO LUCK. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THAT IN COLORADO THERE ARE NOT TOO MANY OF THIS CARS AND EVEN THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO WORK ON THEM. I'M PRETTY SURE THAT IT'S SOMETHING SIMPLE, SOME SENSOR, ETC, BUT NOBODY CAN HELP ME HERE. THIS IS WHY I HAVE TO PART WITH THE CAR. OTHER THAN THIS ISSUE , THERE IS A THIN SCRATCH ALONG THE PASSENGER DOOR AND CONTINUES A LITTLE ON THE QUARTER PANEL. THE FRONT BUMPER HAS SOME IMPERFECTIONS ON THE LOWER DRIVER SIDE. ALSO THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT PRESENTER IS BROKEN(YOU CAN HEAR THE MOTOR WORKING, BUT THE METAL ARM IS BROKEN). THE REST OF THE CAR IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION FOR THE YEAR. NO TEARS OR RIPS IN THE INTERIOR, THE BURL WOOD IS IN GOOD CONDITION TOO. THE BATTERY IS LESS THAN 5 MONTHS OLD. OVERALL THIS IS A GOOD CLASSIC LUXURY CAR AND WITH SOMEBODY WHO KNOWS HOW TO WORK ON THIS CARS, IT'S GONNA RUN LIKE IT SHOULD AGAIN. I PRICED THE CAR TO SELL, SO BID WITH CONFIDENCE. FROM WHAT I KNOW THE EXPENSIVE PARTS ARE REPLACED AND THE FIX SHOULD BE FAIRLY EASY/CHEAP, BUT YOU NEED TO FIND THE RIGHT PERSON TO DO IT.
