Vehicle Detail
I'll take a quick stab at all we've done to this 911t, first was to install a 3.0 sc engine and 915 trans. I bought both from a salvage place, were removed from a black slant-nose wide body convertible sort of deal. the word on the engine was that it had recently been rebuilt, and I spoke to a friend of the guy that wrecked the car. (this was years back so I don't recall the name of the shop that did the work). I have no paperwork on the rebuild. the shop was in san diego area (la jolla I think). anyhow, they said it had euro/carrera cams etc. both engine and trans came with a 6 month warranty so I had my pro-wrench guy in santa cruz check it out, he did compression, leak down and valve adjustment. he confirmed that valve seats looked to be new/updated and that trans looked to be in great shape as well. also had tim (tim benson's fastlane) install a msd. the next hurdle was to get rid of that self leveling front end. so I sourced new suspension parts, new brakes etc. had it all installed at TSD in campbell ca. I removed anything of weight, the clock, the speaker, sound deadening material. replaced the heavy seats with 20 lb each seats, light weight carpet kit, rs door panels... this car is REALLY light. the front spoiler is the steel unit from a 911s, the vallance plate between the rear bumpers is aluminum and the duck tail is carbon fiber. we moved from santa cruz to austin, tx. I drove the car out. we spent the next three years desiging and building a modern green home using new materials and technology. the car sat for a few years. so we tried to get it back on the rd but no start, had it towed to moorespeed. they just rebuilt the carbs and redid the fuel system at a cost of over 2k. also the ignition switch was just replaced. we have several other cars and we have three kids, this project just is not practical to us. my wife is currently driving to/from work daily but spring is about to turn to summer and it will likely sit for another 6 months (no a/c). we have decided to let it go. it needs carrera cam tensioner upgrade ($1800). the oil seen in the pics leaks from the cam seals, so upgrade will also stop the leak. the video here is zero-80, .... http://youtu.be/K3FhRCRMFxk straight and steady at highway speeds, goes like a rocket (both my local pro mechanics rave on how fast and fun this car is), it stops easily and quickly with no pulling left/right or pulsating pedal. please come see the car or pay for a Pre purchase inspection. I believe the car would be fetch $18k if it had the cam tensioner upgrade. car is very solid and very minor rust (pic of rocker panel is not rust through, is more like a bubble under the paint. there are a few spots with blemishes in the paint) only real rust spot is on one door, about the size of a ladybug. full folder of pics can be found at http://austinmodhouse.com/911t/ call or email paul at austinmodhouse dot kom (use c instead of k, I know this is dumb but I'm tired of getting spam and vacation offers, call me at area code five one two 587- seven three one zero) just had the texas state inspection done, tx registration is current. vehicled has a clear title, california title. a $500 deposit is required within 24 hrs of auctions end. please ask questions and schedule inspections ahead of time. I will get this car to any porsche mechanic in austina area to have a pro check it out for you. please do not bid if you do not have the blessing of your significant other or if this purchase hinges on the sale of your other vehicle. yes, I can pick you up at the airport, yes I will drive this back out to CA for a fee (I'd jump in this car and drive it anywhere). I will work with your shipper, that is great that you are from germany and you can transfer the entire funds, I expect whoever to be high bidder to pay with real money as well. rust bubble (above) > is the dash cracked? you bet it is! the optima battery quit two weeks ago, has a brand new interstate battery at the moment. http://youtu.be/ldWP-fvPAlMOn Apr-19-11 at 13:12:20 PDT, seller added the following information: the weber carbs are 46 IDA, whoever rebuilt the engine also removed the #, original color is green, rear wheels are wider than front, passenger's side mirror has a stick on convex mirror over it b/c those original tiny mirrors are useless (original mirror under stick on is cracked), headliner is in good condition, has one rear seat belt. front belts are original manual tension type.
