For auction 1994 Jeep Cherokee, 6 cyl, 4.0 engine, 127K miles, 4 door, 4x4. This jeep is very drivable. It is my daily driver. The good: Power windows power locks alloy wheels detachable face cd player Lift gate still in good operating condition. V6 engine 4 wheel drive only 127k miles no engine or transmission problems Good heat and air conditioning (charged it last summer) new head lights 2 month old battery The Bad: There are a lot of minor issues with this jeep. I will attempt to mention all the ones I can think of. Needs breaks but it is drivable in present condition. Windshield is cracked half way across the window. The passenger door doesn't close tightly and can be pulled open from the outside even when locked. The door's pin and catch mechanism is damaged and probably un-repairable. When locked, the front passenger door can't be pushed open from the inside but can be pulled open from the outside, as mentioned. The passenger door interior panel is loose not fitted properly. The back Passenger door handle is missing. Ignition switch doesn't go into auxilary mode (the opposite of turn from starting). The plastic on the steering column is damaged but doesn't effect the opperation of the steering column. Smaller than normal steering wheel. On the highway there is a noticeable shutter between the speeds of 45 and 55. Below and over those speeds the jeep drives normal. Rocker panels are rusted out There is a rusted out hole in the front passenger floor. The power windows work intermittently. (not sure what that's about) Secondary engine fan does not work unless it is switched on from inside the car. There is problem with the relay switch for the fan. In the same fuse box there is also a problem with the relay switch for the air conditioning. (I used a paper clip to jump relay for the airconditioning relay. Faded roof and hood paint There are dents on the driver side fender and door seam. The headliner sags and has a couple of holes. The carpeting is dirty. Final assesment: This jeep is good for a fixer upper or for parts or to drive as is with the windshield repaired and the new breaks. The engine runs strong, the the transmission shifts good. The four wheel drive works great. I have never had a problem with the engine or transmission. Anyone who knows about the jeeps made during this time period can appreciate the touchness and durablilty of theses engines. This Jeep must be picked up as the registration has run out. I can drive it to your location if you make arrangements to get temporary tags or equivalent, pay for the gas plus $50. I am not accepting bids from bidders with less than 10 positive feedbacks.
