1926 Ford Model T Coupe (also known as a 'Doctor's Coupe', although Henry Ford never called it that). Henry Ford was quoted as saying 'you can get a Ford in any color you want, as long as it's black.' In the early years that was true, but with an increasing popularity of the motor car with the American public and with competition such as Dodge Brothers, Buick, and Chevrolet among others offering custom colors towards the later production year models of his Model T run, Henry Ford relented and allowed requests from his dealerships to take special orders for different color models, and this beautiful burgundy on this particular 1926 Coupe was one of the colors available. Typically Ford left the fenders and splash aprons in gloss black, and painted the body the custom color, but it was not uncommon for the entire car to receive the custom color, such as this burgundy 1926 Model T Coupe. This car runs excellently with good engine compression, has the original buzz coil and timer ignition system and original style tires. This car can be driven daily, and the brand new Firestone whitewall tires in addition to all running gear are all in outstanding condition, with the exception of an older paint job with minor imperfections. This car has spent its life indoors, has no rust and these minor cosmetic defects don't significantly detract from the general excellent appearance. This car has a clear Indiana title, and I purchased this car earlier this year near Indianapolis, Indiana. The previous owner indicated that he was the third owner of the car, and purchased it from the daughter of the original owner who passed many years ago and transferred the car to the daughter through his estate. The 1926 Indiana license plate seen in the photos is also included with this vehicle.
