1960 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite Mark I Great car, just needs a driver!!! 20 year longtime owner, this car was taken in by us on consignment. It is a 20 year old rotisserie restoration that has held up well and has just been freshened up by it's owner. Recent updates include a new clutch with a new 9 spring pressure plate, throwout bearing and a lightened, balanced flywheel. Replaced rear engine plate due to an oil leak. With the engine removed, the engine compartment was fully detailed as was the engine. The heater valve gasket was also replaced. The thermostat housing, the upper radiator hose and radiator cap were replaced. The cooling system was flushed and new coolant installed. All new exhaust installed including a new header system. New motor mount , transmission oil replaced, steering rack boots replaced and toe in adjusted. Rear brakes adjusted and bled. Engine upgrades to the (believed original block) 9C original Mark I block include Hepolite flat top pistons, Mark II head and carbs as well as a performance reground cam. The transmission has close ratio, better synchronized Mark II gears. The front drum brakes were updated to Mark II discs and the wheels are wider english mag wheels with new tires. All the original parts are available with the car if the new owner desires. The body of the car is rust free ( I saw a small amount of repair behind the right rear tire) and has held up well for a 20 year restoration. There are a few chips here and there, but I am having the paint matched so I can touch up the few spots. Underside of the car, as shown in the photos, is rust free. Chrome, although presentable, is a bit tired and could use a replate. If you have any questions, call Bill direct at 904-753-1116. He can answer any questions you may have. The car runs and drives like a bat out hell. It starts right up, sounds great, and drives great. The top assembly and canvas, not shown in the photos, is like new. Side curtains are also like new, although the rubber seals are a bit stiff.
