Vehicle Detail
Honda 1983 Gold Wing GL-1100 Naked model (not a stripped Interstate or Aspencade) with only 38k miles. Being in the motorcycle business and working at a Honda dealership I ordered this motorcycle as new directly from American Honda Motor Company. I used our truck to transport the crate from the Honda warehouse in Port Newark, NJ to our Dealership in CT where I removed it from the crate, assembled, serviced, and performed the PDI (pre-delivery inspection). This bike has been both mechanically and cosmetically maintained. It is not and does not need to be restored. It has only tiny normal marks of usage and no excessive wear as far as pits or scratches in the paint or chrome. Fact; when I ride it to bike shows or swap meets it frequently gets many admirers and compliments (often more attention than the newer bikes), well it is an antique. I guess I am also... Service work has been performed as required according to time, mileage, wear, or me thinking it's time to open something up and take a look inside. Once you disassemble to check/inspect/measure you usually end up replacing the parts anyway since your already there, even though they are still within factory service specifications. I practice preventive maintenance not reactive repair maintenance. All parts such as; timing belts, hoses, fork seals, wipers, bushings, cables, tires, valve stems, bearings, brake pads, brake masters, calipers, batteries (glass mat), air and oil filters, switches, bulbs, accelerator pumps, spark plugs, ignition wires, suppressor caps, grommets, electrical relays, solenoids, coolant, brake fluid, fuel lines, water pump, thermostat, radiator cap, gaskets, o-rings etc. have been replaced with only OEM Factory Honda parts or higher quality. Lubricants have always been exclusively Amsoil full synthetic motor oils, gear oils, and grease. Brake fluid is Military Spec. DOT-5. This bike runs great and has served me well. I'll miss it but don't have sufficient time to ride all the toys and believe there is somebody out there that will appreciate it and wants to ride and show it. It is a great Vintage Japanese Collector Bike. Last Metzeler tires installed 06/05/09 hit the choke, turn the key, press start and ride it home! It includes factory owners/operators manual, factory service manual, tool kit, service records, title and 2 keys. Rob cell 203-895-9840.
