Vehicle Detail

This is a 1954 Ford F-100 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck. This truck came out of North Carolina and I have a Clear title for it. The Body of this Truck is very very solid. It is not perfect, but it is far better than the vintage trucks you usually find in Ohio. The paint is a flat and faded blue and there are some small Dents and Dings in the Body. The Cab is very Solid. The Cab Corners are very good, but there may be a little filler in either one. Top is very solid, but has some small dents and may also have a little body filler. It does not appear to have been patched or Repaired. The Glass is all present and in good condition. The Windshield does have a small stone chip. The side windows roll up and down. The Rear Window is good. The Seat is very nice and may have been recovered or may be a replacement. The Steering Wheel appears to be original. The Gauge cluster looks good and appears to be original. The Headliner looks good, but is probably a stock replacement unit. The Floor is very solid. I do not think there are any rust holes in it. The Floor is covered with a heavy stock looking Rubber Mat. This Mat is torn, near the Battery Cover, probably from being pulled back to access the Battery. This Mat may be original or may be a replacement. Either way, it is either original or a reproduction of the factory mat. The Doors are very solid. The Doors open and Close well. The Hood is solid, but has some dings in it. The Hood still has it's original F-100 Side and Front Emblems. The Hood also has a nice Hood Ornament. I do not know if this is an original Ford Factory Ornament for this truck, but it looks old enough to be original and fits the truck well. The Front Fenders are very solid and look great. They may have some small dings in the them. The Grill looks good. The Front and Bumper is solid and looks good. It may be slightly bent. The Running Boards both have one small rust hole in them. The Bed Sides look good and solid. There is some rust at the front of the Bed Sides. The Rear Fenders are very solid and look great. They may have some small dings. The passenger's Side Rear Fender has a small Split in it. The Tail Gate is bent and rusty and is actually off of an older Ford truck. The Tail Gate Chains are both missing. The Rear Bumper is a replacement piece. The Wheels are Steel with small "Ford" Hub Caps. The Tires have almost no miles on them, but are old. They are probably fine for driving, but I do not know how old they are. There is a Spare mounted on the Driver's Side of the Bed. The Brakes are up and working, but feel spongy. I will try to have them working properly, before the end of the auction. The Engine is an eight cylinder and appears to be original. I do not know if it is a 272 or 292. It may be neither. I bought points for the truck and the parts store told me the points I took out of it were different and probably came from a newer engine. The engine may have been replaced at some time. I just don't know. The Engine starts easily and runs. I think it needs some carburetor work. It can be started and driven around, but it spits and sputters. The Transmission is a three speed on the column and appears to be original. It shifts well and does not appear to have any issues. With very little work, this Truck could be a good every day driver. It is solid and looks good from a few feet. The paint is not a professional job. It is flat and is apparently over other layers of old paint. Like I said, it looks good from a few feet away and would be great for cruising around in, but if you are looking for a show quality paint job, this ain't it! I tried to post good pictures showing the true condition of the truck. I will try to answer any questions through email. This Truck can be started and driven, but should be trailered any long distance. I may be able to assist with delivery, for a fee, within a few hundred miles of Akron, Ohio. This truck sells without reserve to the highest bidder.
