Wow. Simply outstanding example of a very rare car. This 1975 Carrera is number 127 of 174 ever, and likely the only one left in this rare color combo, Special order paint #406 Gazelle Gold Metallic over Cork tan with leather seats option. Always owned and maintained by fanatics, you can tell this one has never seen hard times in it's 125,303 miles of livelihood to date. MOTOR & TRANSMISSION: Of all the updates you could do to make this model years problematic motor better, the best of all has been done. 3.0L transplant! On 5/10/95 motor #6581182, a 1978 3.0L was DOT'd in this car by the CA State Bureau of Automotive repair to comply with all the smog requirements at that time. Since then, the car became smog exempt in CA and all the smog pump equipment was removed, boxed, and is included in this sale but not pictured. Updates include oil fed tensioners and pop off valve. Backdates include removal of heater blower motor (also boxed and included but not pictured) and replaced with earlier style heater duct tins. This motor in this car is the perfect match. It runs flawlessly. One very slight dime size oil drip (note: bottom of motor was not cleaned up or degreased in anyway for picture), but no smoking or burning. I have driven this car almost 1000 miles and in that time, it has not used even the slightest degree of oil. The 915 Transmission feels like the original with the very popular, aggresive, 7:31 ring and pinion. Shifts smooth and tight, but I suspect never rebuilt. BODY & PAINT: Repainted once to a very, very high standard in it's original color, in it's original 3 stage application. Pictures do not do this color justice. Like other early Gold Metallics from Porsche, this one looks different in different lighting and I have tried to show examples of this in the pictures below. It is just so very striking with it's Cork Tan interior combo. Body is extremely straight and paint shines brilliantly with no flaws (hazing, cracking, etc) of any kind. No rust, or rust repair. A California car most of it's life, this car is very solid with unduplicatible integrity. INTERIOR: Almost 100% original (gear shift knob replaced) in outstanding condition. NO cracks or warps in the dash. No fatigued arm rests, or worn door pockets. Even the original Silvernit plush carpet remains unfaded, stain free and has no wear spots. Truly amazingly preserved interior. Just look at that original sport steering wheel! Leather seats have not hardened or dried over the years and are surprisingly soft and supple still. Rear shelf still looks amazing considering how much abuse this area gets from the sun in these Targas, and it is the original multiple piece unit, never having been updated with a newer one piece speaker housing style unit. New windshield, and lots of newer seals throughout. SUSPENSION: Just had it lowered and corner balanced. Newer Bilstien Sports. Brand new speed rated H, 205/60 and 215/60 Ziex ZE912's on original (correct date stamped on all 4 specific to this year/model only) polished 7&8x15 Fuchs. Front strut brace. Original front and rear stabilizer bars and torsion bars. No mods from stock. Very solid underside, with a clean, dent free pan and NO RUST. Car handles like a slot car, like it should. No play, wobbles, funny noises, pulling one way or another etc. Tracks straight and is delightful to drive at ALL speeds. Don't miss out on this wonderful early Carrera. NO RESERVE, so bid to win!
