Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1971 MGB GT. The car is in good mechanical condition but has a few cosmetic issues which I have listed below. During good weather I drive the car 2-3 days per week and have always been very impressed by the mechanical reliability. The only recent problem I've had was the master cylinder which was replaced with a new unit last June. The chassis is extremely solid on this car which is the reason I purchased it, there's a few small surface rust bubbles on the hatch and a couple on the fenders but they should be very easy to repair, patch panels will not be required. The floors, rockers, frame rails, etc are all solid. The engine and suspension have clearly been maintained and are in good working condition, brakes and tires are also good and should have a fair amount of life left in them. This car runs and drives great, it is one you can enjoy for a while and will make a great foundation for a high quality restoration whenever you are ready. Good Points: Engine runs great. Starts quick even in cool weather, runs cool, and maintains 50psi oil pressure Suspension/brakes in good condition. Plenty of pad left, tires have good tread, no unusual clunks/bumps etc Very solid chassis, no rust in floor pans, sills, trunk floor, spring hangers, etc. Has newer master cylinder, muffler, oil cooler, fuel pump and carbs recently rebuilt. This car is overall a maintained, driveable car. Known Issues: Paint is not perfect, looks okay from 20' but will need a respray if you want it to be a show car An aftermarket AC was installed, but not working. I removed it but still have all the parts if you want them. Roof has very small creases at 3 corners, appears something heavy was put on the roof once. They are small, but there. Windshield has a very small crack in lower RH corner Small surface rust bubbles in hatch and on fenders, very light but present Interior isn't in bad shape, but not perfect. Has new door panels and no cracks in dash, but carpets and seats are worn. For more info or more pictures, please contact me through this ad or at my e-mail. (ddelong1 @ hotmail.com - remove the spaces) This car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Test drives and/or in-person inspections are welcome, please contact me to arrange. I have driven this car on the interstate numerous times and would say this car is safe and capable of being driven home, no overdrive though so max speed should be around 70 mph. A deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction, paypal is preffered. Car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction end date or purchaser forefits all rights to car and the $500 deposit. Balance of the purchase price can be paid upon pickup, cash required unless I have given previous approval for another payment method. I have a clear NC title in my name for the car which will be signed over at the time of pickup. Buyer is responsible for pick-up of the car and/or any shipping arrangements.
