Up for auction is a VERY solid 2002 we got in a package deal of old bimmer parts and cars, it belonged to a friend of ours and he is having some health issues and the cars needed to go... He was using it as a daily driver since 2003- he called it "Deer Killer" (there is a dent in the hood where he killed a deer a few years ago). I was thinking of pulling the drivetrain and installing an M20 2.5 6cyl. but, I still have a 1973 2002, a 1974 2002 and a 1957 Isetta to get done! The car has a CLEAN PA title. If you are serious about the car, COME see it IN PERSON. We have no problem walking around the car over the phone but, we are a very busy shop and you will save everyone a lot of time by taking a drive to see it with your own eyes. We are: 2.5 hours from Phili, 2.5 hours from Washington D.C, 3 hours from NYC, 2 hours from Baltimore and 3 hours from Pittsburgh. Engine / Transmission: The engine runs strong, pump it a few times and she fires right up!!! The transmission... (YES, its an automatic...)- BUT, the transmission is just OK, it shifts all 3 gears but, if you "stomp" on it while pulling out - it slips between 1st and 2nd. If you drive it like a normal human being it shifts ok. The car has New exhaust, New muffler, New brake hoses, a few new brake lines, etc... There are 2 service reciepts from 2009 where $1900+. was spent on it within 2 months. The engine appears to be painted "blue" under the grease and oil. I've driven the car a few times (35+ miles) for parts and I like the old girl, it reminds me of a "Rat Rod"!! Body / Paint: The overall appearance is not great, (the car has been garaged for years) -the body is in good shape, there are a few dings, dents, chips, scratches here and there. The car was orig. Green, then sprayed Silver THEN- flat black. The drivers door is missing the chrome belt trim but, the rest of trim looks decent. We may even have a piece of trim around somewhere! The shock towers are BEAUTIFUL, the rocker panels are nice and solid as is the spare tire well!!! The whole car is VERY- VERY SOLID but, as every 2002 with any age, it has a few small spots of rust; The drivers floor has some "fiberglass?" "roofing tar?" smeared on it but, doesnt look serious, and both turn signal corners have some rust. I didn't see any major "BONDO" in the body and its very clean on the underside. Again, the CAR is VERY SOLID, the car is NOT all rusted out. The rust that the car has, is minor and easy to repair. The car has 4- NEW tires, New brake hoses, New exhaust, Oil changed, etc... The car drives down the road fine but, it comes with FREE shakes, shimmies, and rattles, etc... Again, I like to explain the car the best I can but, I would prefer you come see it in person as there may be something we missed. Interior: The interior is rough but, it has a few good points: VERY nice dash, "WHITE" seats (I've never seen white seats in a 2002?!) They are not ripped up but, dirty- we didn't even try to clean the car at all. Sunroof doesn't work, the heat DOES work, the radio doesn't work but, the odometer DOES work!! The interior is very dirty all around but, as you can see- I was driving it 75 mph! Which reminds me, the previuous owner told me he thinks the miles are correct but, the PA title says 000,000. Overall, its a great car, I've driven it 35+ miles myself and to be honest, I really like the car. Come see it. NOTE: This car RUNS and DRIVES, it is NOT a show car, it is NOT perfect... BUT, it is VERY solid and has a lot of good that comes with the bad. LOL. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Payment: If you bid on the car, you must have the money, we are serious sellers, we are a BMW repair shop- Not some joker who is going to relist this car 20 times...The car sells 1 time and 1 time ONLY. Bid to win. A non-refundable down payment is due within 48 hours of end of auction (Credit card, PAYPAL or cash in hand), the car must be paid in full within 3 days unless prior plans are made, (Credit card, or Cash in hand- PAYPAL can NOT be used to pay in full.) This means, you CALL us to make arrangements BEFORE you bid on the car. Tax, tags, etc: We issue PA temp. tags onsite, PA residents must pay all state sales taxes ,tags ,fees, etc. Out of state buyers have the option of a 30 day transit tag for $55.00. All buyers need a drivers lic. and valid insurance card in the buyers name. Shipping / Storage: The car must be picked up within 7 days unless PRIOR plans are made. We don't have a problem storing the car longer once its paid for and we have talked to the buyer. Again- CALL us FIRST to make arrangements.
