If you do not agree to all the terms on the listing, please do not bid, thanks for your time! If you are seriously interested in this truck: THE AUCTIONS ENDS SATURDAY April 9th at 2:20PM (Eastern time) set a reminder in your phone to check ebay on Saturday night at noon if you want a nice, fuel efficient diesel truck that will last years. 1982 Chevrolet LUV diesel 4 cylinder 5 speed (manual transmission) pickup truck. VIN # J8ZBL14S7C8200387. We will start with the good: regular cab, 5 speed, 2 wheel drive 4 cylinder diesel averages 35mpg city/hwy. regular cab short bed pickup truck. White exterior, blue interior, very few miles on the odometer! this vehicle has tons of life left. It has no issues and needs zero repairs to be road worthy. There is a Va inspection sticker good until November 2011. Brand spanking new tires in front, newer tires in rear, zero rot, superb tread. park brake works great, shifts very smoothly into all 5 forward gears as well as reverse without any grinding whatsoever. all syncros in trans are good, it shifts great. Does not seem to use any oil, or leak any fluids. Brakes and steering are tight. manual windows and locks, work great! nothing to break on them! Clear Virginia title ready for the new buyer. The glow plugs work great, this puppy fires right up and will go and go for likely another 200k miles. There is a block heater for sub-zero starting, works great if its less than 20 degrees out and you don't want to wait for your truck to warm up. all lights and turn signals function beautifully. inspected, this vehicle will make it to California and back without issue. The orig. temp gauge is the only thing I can identify that does not operate, but there is an aftermarket "sunpro" temperature gauge mounted to the bottom of the dash (pictured). New rear shocks, also has spring helpers on rear springs so it should be able to haul a heavier load in the bed. This stock, extremely low mileage Chevy LUV diesel needs a couple of things: 1. badges/decals put back on (inside cab, have them all). 2. Paint job ($280 at Maaco) 3. seat covers and find better shape driver seat belt from a junkyard (does not retract/suck back into socket). 4.radio re-installed. 5. the heater is not plugged in, no coolant running to it? blower motor works great. The rust has been taken care of with new metal on the rockers. There is slight rust inside the bed, undercarriage is extremely clean, ZERO ROT. the only dent I see is in front of the passenger's fender. The only rust thru is a couple very small holes in the bed and a small spot on drivers rearmost panel near where the exhaust comes out, also, this could stand to have the tailgate replaced, starting to rust pretty good at the bottom. There is a small crack (maybe 9 inches long) on the windshield. Does not effect vision, still passes inspection. I considered taking this pickup truck to MAACO myself and having it painted, but I did not want to mis-represent it. This is not an "off the showroom floor" vehicle by any means, but I have never seen a diesel of this vintage with what appears to be such low miles. It is about 30 years old, meaning if the odometer is correct, this has been used for approx. 3000 each year for the past 29 years!!! The speedo functions perfect, GPS verified. Really, although I may have been able to sell it for more otherwise if I had taken this truck to be painted, I decided against it for this reason: This truck is 100% original as it is, and this way, the new buyer can decide what color they like most for this fuel sipping Chevrolet. The exhaust does not smoke but a little on start-up and will puff off a little bit of black smoke when its floored, as all diesels of this vintage do. If you've never owned a diesel, trust me, this is not an issue whatsoever. This has the 2.2L Isuzu diesel. This same engine was offered in Isuzu trooper diesels, Isuzu P'ups, troopers, trucks, Chevy Luv's, and forklifts. (Engine used in many applications, not difficult to get parts for at all) In the vehicular applications, they were offered with a turbo I believe in 1986 and 1987, so you should be able to find a stock turbo setup from an 86/87 model year which will directly bolt up to this motor. If you search for it, should help fuel economy and power even more!!! Really, this thing runs wonderfully. The entire time I was taking pictures the engine was running, it doesn't put off smoke or overheat or anything like that (which is what the GAS power LUVs are prone to do)... No no no, this engine is far superior. As you can tell from the temp gauge (more accurate than the original one), this thing operates around 190F all day, idling for an hour or going up the hills. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION. this means whatever the thing sales for, the highest bidder is responsible for paying and picking up the truck (24060, Blacksburg, Va). Ebay charges me a $100 successful sales fee for selling a vehicle. I will split this fee with the buyer, meaning, if the auction ends and the truck sells for $900, the buyer will come to zip code 24060, put $950 cash in my hands, and they get clear title and a great little running, driving, diesel 5-speed truck. ONCE MORE, please read over listing twice, ask any questions you may have, and contact me for a ph # or test drive. I have nothing to hide, your more than welcome to come see/test drive this little beast. I had a diesel datsun 720 pickup that I had MAACO paint for 300 and I made a wooden bed for, it really looked sharp, I recommend doing this. if someone were to paint this chevy luv, they'd have a great looking little fuel sipping diesel which will likely last another 30 years. Needs nothing but an oil change every 4k miles. Could use an oil change right now, I can have it done before buyer picks up if they include $25 more dollars. I got the vehicle in non-running condition and have been fixing it up. recently drained all the old diesel from the fuel tank and added new fuel filter. I have been as accurate as possible, and do my best to be extremely honest about everything. This vehicle is sold as-is, where-is, and I have done by best to very precisely describe it. please don't bid unless you plan to pay for and come get this beautiful lil truck. I HAD TO RELIST THIS TRUCK last time it sold for $2,501.00. It is for sale locally for this price only, and I reserve the right to end early. There are blemishes. It has been touched up with a rattle can to prevent rust. Also, I took it on a road trip to Roanoke. It pulls up the mountains fine in 4th or 5th gear, even coming close to maintaining the speed limit up hill. It will not go 70 mph up hill! It will likely cruise 60 all day up hills though. If you have never had one, diesels are designed for lower engine rpm and therefore they are usually driven slightly slower than gasoline counterparts. The blocks are thicker, they last longer, but are designed for longevity and torque, not acceleration or top speed! The truck is for sale as-is, where-is. Deposit due via paypal or in cash at close of auction. I also discovered on the roadtrip that only the last digit of the odometer works, meaning there are likely 110k miles on this diesel? There were 91k miles as of late 2006, *(so however many miles were put on it in the last 5 years +91K = total mileage), but the truck was "down" when I got it and had been sitting since summer 2009... so not many miles, but exact mileage unknown. it had 91K as of late 2006 (VEHICLE HISTORY REPORT ON TOP OF PAGE), then however many were put on from late 06-summer 09 when it was parked. It was parked from summer 09-now, so only 91K plus mileage from late 2006-2009 (Parked from summer 09 till now). It has been inspected since then. New tires, no rot, rust on rockers was waken care of! the bed could be used and abused, or replaced if your looking for a perfect looking truck. This truck is NOT perfect looking. Some people came to pick it up expecting a new looking truck. It runs like new, but it doesn't look new. please be aware. As I mentioned, I had another white little diesel truck I put a wood bed on and repainted at Maaco. It looked great, I was able to dig up some photos. If you are interested in seeing them, please use the "as the seller a question" icon(top right corner of listing) and email me with your email address and I will gladly send them. you can also email me for a ph #. or look under shipping/payment tab of listing. This bed could be salvaged and even used as-is, or you could find another bed at a junkyard, or you could wood-bed it, I simply have a picture so show you how nice they look with a wooden bed if your interested. On a final note, recognize that I spent a lot of time taking all the pictures I could and accurately describing the truck. Please do not waste my time, only bid if your interested. May I recommend coming to see and test drive this beast!!! Nothing to hide on this end. There was one other owner of the truck. He had it forever, and added some bad fuel to it in 2009. It sat for a long time. I fixed this issue and brought her back to life, but she still is a little rough around the edges. Great little daily driver or possibly ready to restore or abuse, your choice! Thanks for looking, good luck, happy bidding! Chris
