Vehicle Detail
Beautiful classic Mustang convertible. Very desirable Springtime yellow over parchment interior, white power top. This car is a great example of a rust free southern car. Originally from Texas, the car was in NC the past 7 years kept in a garage. The car went through a quality restoration in the early 90's. Visually, the paint looks like it was recently painted. There are a few road chips here and there. By no means is it in show quality type condition. The interior has some holes, paint nicks on the door, the white top is starting to show it's age but still looks good, the dash is perfect, the console is complete and needs to simply be freshened up. All the parts are there. The beauty and advantage of this car is simple. It is a great driver with excellent potential to be a MCA type show winning car. The car starts and runs beautifully everytime. The car is rust free with an exception of the typical small spot on the front drivers door. This is a very easy and inexpensive fix. The main areas such as the rockers, frame rails, trunk and floor pans, wheel wells etc are rust free. This car does not need any major body work. The engine was overhauled at one point and has only 2-3000k miles since then. The C4 shifts smooth, with no problems. This car is a solid 7-10 in terms of overall condition. I bought this car with the intention of doing a complete restoration. The problem is time and two growing kids. They are my priorty now. I recently completed a 5 year restoration on my K code fastback. Believe me, I had to replace everything on that car and would not do that again. This car is a piece of cake both in time and expense to get it to be a show winner. Please email me your specific questions. I can also send you more pics if needed.. My reserve is very fair considering the condition and options. I have put about $1000 into the car over the past few months What's NEW Rear shocks Recharge on the AC (works great) Brand new rebuilt concours quality Autolite 1100 carb ($500) Fuel pump, filter Weather stripping door and trunk New door sills New rubber gaskets around windows. On Mar-28-11 at 18:29:14 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to add that the car also has two brand new tires. All told, I have spent $1200 recently on new parts..On Mar-31-11 at 09:11:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Several common questions that I have received: The condition of the chrome bumpers-- They are in excellent shape, like new ,no pitting or rust Body lines are very straight.(pictures show a good representation of lines) Hood and trunk gaps are very straight and flat. Valence seams are also tight. This is a very straight car overall. The headlight buckets could use some adjustment. The drivers door could also use hinge pins and adjusted. No big deal though. Glass- avg condition. I would guess the glass is original. All windows roll up and down.. the back conv plastic top window is hazy but nothing unusual. There are no holes in it. Small vent windows do open and close. Bottom side of car is in excellent overall condition. It is not show clean but driver clean..There appears to be an original coat of undercoating. The pans appear to be original with no rust. Exhaust system is fine an operational.
