Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1957 MGA Roadster as I have a another one almost finished and cannot afford both. Starts right up, runs and drives with good oil pressure on the engine. This car could be painted and driven as strictly a driver but my plan was to fix the rusted areas and somewhat restore. The worst of the rust is the rear inner fenders and rockers. There is one piece on a section of the frame about 4" that should have a piece welded in. Trunk is mainly solid with one quarter size hole towards the rear. Rear fenders are currently fiberglass but I have some steel ones that go with the car. Also have a good grill and a new top that goes with the car. Mechanically the fuel tank was removed and cleaned and filter replaced, carbureators rebuilt, rewired ignition switch and some gauges, flushed cooling system, replaced intake gasket. New brake linnings and cylinders. Master cylinders rebuilt. This is an original rare red roadster. Low reserve. On Mar-27-11 at 10:11:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Comes with the side windows in decent shape. Generator was rebuilt. Actual mileage is unknown. I thought you could tell by pictures but windshield glass is cracked. On Mar-29-11 at 19:23:50 PDT, seller added the following information: I crawled under the car today as best I could and took pictures of the rust areas. My original description was based on what I was told by the shop that did the mechanicals. I found two sections not one of rust on the frame probably 3" or 4" in length each on the bottom part of the square frame member and close to each other around the rocker panel area so no issue structurally. The rest was correct...rockers and rear inner fenders, etc.. Please see the pictures I've added. Also I'm not sure about original color as I've found blue paint as well. I'm trying to be as frank as possible but if you are a serious bidder you should inspect the car or have someone do it for you. I'm not a professional and answering as honestly as possible.
