Vehicle Detail

This vehicle offered is a 1968 Dodge Charger coupe. It is equipped with a non-original 318 cubic inch V-8 with 340 heads and cam topped by a non-stock 4 barrel carburator. It is equipped with an electronic distributor for better drivability. The original distributor comes with the car. (The original 318 was replaced due to a wrist pin clip coming loose and damaging the block.) It has tubular headers and low restriction Cherry Bomb mufflers. The car has a great sound at idle and underway! It has a Torqueflite automatic transmission with a shift kit and console mounted shifter. The car starts every time but will be in need of a starter drive in the near future. The console is from a 1970 model. This car is presently licensed and on the road in New York State. It cruises well on the Interstate and in town and always turns heads. The body and paint are passable. The body and paint work done over the years could certainly stand to be redone. You could buy and drive this car without being ashamed of its exterior appearance. The front grill has no broken teeth and the retractable headlight doors are in good working order. It has had both rear quarters replaced with after market sheet metal sections. The seams inside the trunk where the sheet metal was mated up are visible. This car has some rust around the windshield and rear window which is typical for these cars. I believe that it never had a vinyl roof covering. The driver's front floor pan has some small holes in it. The trunk pan needs to be replaced. I have attempted to highlight these items in the pictures. There is some rust underneath the car that I am attempting to show in the pictures. The front frame section is in pretty good shape. The rear unibody rails need to be repaired due to rust. This car has never been apart to the best of my knowledge. To make perfect, it should be restored. The car is a driver as is. The car was serviced less than 100 miles ago. The working odometer reading of 70,206 miles does not reflect the actual milage on the car. The true mileage is unknown. The interior: The dash is quite nice. The speedometer works as do all the gauges except for the temperature gauge. The original Dodge Solid State AM radio is in place and working! The interior lights, including the glove box and courtesy lights work. The driver's bucket seat cushion needs to be completely redone. The passenger seat, while cracked, is in much better condition. The door panels are in pretty good condition. The rear seat and side panels are good. The headliner is in need of replacement. The clock does not work but is in place. The windshield wipers and washers both work. The windshield is in place on the car and needs replacement. A spare windshield comes with the car as does a 5th Magnum wheel and a few miscellaneous other trim pieces. To the best of my knowledge this car has been in my local area since new. I have sales documentation dating back to 1970 when it was traded in with 25,000 miles on it to a local Ford Dealer. The original warranty "CertiCard" with a local owners name and address on it is with the car. I acquired the car from the person who owned it since the late 1970's. It does not have a build sheet. It is difficult to present every detail pertaining to the condition of this 43 year old car. Invariably there are some items in need of attention or restoration that I have not discovered. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Please Email them and I will respond promptly. Please note my Ebay rating. I have always endeavored to accurately represent anything I have sold. If you plan to bid and do not have a rating with Ebay, please contact me prior to bidding. I have the car for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early in the event of a local sale. All funds must clear prior to the release of the car. This is an opportunity to own a very sought after and drivable car with good restoration potential for a very reasonable price. Good luck with your bid on this desirable car! Thanks for looking!
