Vehicle Detail
The Good:I am the original owner of this 1986 VW Vanagon Syncro. It has a rebuilt engine that was put in at 200,000 miles. This is no reserve. It has newer tires and great shiny hub caps. It doesn't die. The car keeps running. I thought I would have parted it out years ago. It has plenty of space for your dogs, christmas tree groceries etc. Copper brown in color. The BAD:It is missing a mirror on the drivers side. It has a dent on the drivers side. The middle seats were pulled out decades ago. The windshield has 2 cracks but driveable. I drive this around town but am moving from Portland, OR to CA. Occassionally it leaks oil. If you have questions please contact me.On Mar-18-11 at 20:41:30 PDT, seller added the following information: The wall interior has been jimmy rigged to stay attached to the side. It is up to the buyer to pick up in Portland, OR. I think it is best for a knowledgeable VW lover to buy the car because it is water cooled and if you don't know how that works then you can over heat the whole car. On Mar-19-11 at 19:01:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Yes, it has the differential knob and it does work. I rarely use it because I drive around town. Before I had kids we would take this up to the mountains and go skiing and it was great in the snow and ice without chains or snow tires. If you are a knowledgeable VW Bus person, then you know when it is really windy sometimes you feel like the top of the VW Van 'sways'. Once when we drove through the icey Gorge in Oregon Washington border it felt like we were going to sway off the freeway because the winds were 50 mph and it was icey, but we just opened the windows to let the air cross through and it was fine. The back windshield wiper still works. The CD player is a Kenwood, and 14 years old, but still works. If you are from Portland area I have had it serviced by Ron over at German Services in Hillsboro. It has had regular oil changes. Clean title. The front 2 seats are stiff to move. The antenna still works but it is manual and you have to pull it out. It just passed Oregon DEQ in February 2011!!! I hope I answered all the questions that I have received!!
