FOR SALE – 1989 Chevrolet C1500 Daily driver, runs great. I bought it in 1996 with 76,000 miles on it. Everything is original except the Crane Cam kit I installed a few years ago. It added a little extra torque and added 1 extra mpg. The timing chain was really loose so while I had it apart I put the cam kit in also. GM had some serious problems with their paint in these years, the whole truck was repainted a year before I bought it and I had to have the top and hood stripped and repainted again 2 years ago. I have replaced the carpet, the headliner, and the driver side power window motor assembly. The engine has never been apart, except for the cam kit. It does not leak or burn any oil except a little puff of blue once in a while when first starting up. The transmission has been serviced every 50,000 miles with a new filter and fresh fluid. The differential was getting noisy and I found a completely rebuilt differential so I replace the whole thing 8,000 miles ago. Tires, brakes, and battery are all new in the lsat 2 years. AC compressors seem to last about 100,000 miles. I put a new one on at 100,000 and another one again at 200,000 miles, so this one should be good until it hits 300,000 miles. Locking bed hard cover opens in sections and can be completely removed in 2 minutes. This is a good dependable daily driver that really looks pretty good for its age.
