Vehicle Detail
1971 dodge charger 500 SE -Excellent condition for the age was redone in the 80s ... Prime condition for a restoration to a RT clone - super bee clone .. Hemi clone.... or a genaral Lee project . All body panels are straight and have zero bondo work - only a few small dents in the passenger rear quarter panel are its only panel flaws ( some drunk threw beer bottles at it one night 10 years ago) . The 1968 340 engine is the best of the 340s made having 10.5-1 compression - killer X heads .. 275 HP and 340 ft punds of torque using a dual windage trya ... torqueflight 727 tranny ... Slap stick shifter... I picked up this sweet ride 10 years ago when my sister made her husband sell it because it was too damn loud with its Thrush exhaust system. *** I have pictures of the engine which is sweet too ### Ask and I will send them *** Since owning it have added DUI electronic ignition system . New custom carb. and high test wires ... brand new front disc calipers with under 200 miles on them . the waterpump was just done last summer. She has burnt orange metallic paint that was done 20 years ago. Originally with a 318 it was the 67371st Vehical Built The vinyl top is in very good shape and the car runs and sounds sweet.as hell .... A real head turner to say the least. I had been planning a complete nut and bolt resto myself as I love the car ... Plans were to add a 6 pack carb ... work the gears ... and replace all suspension and steering new .... This car is about the easiest to work on as you will ever find.... room to have a party under the hood ... a 12 cylinder Viper motor fits in no problems !! The 1968 340 engine that is in it now is actually what they deemed the "mini-hemi" ... it was the very best of the 340s made with killer X heads and thicker webbing than the 340s that came after. With under 3,000 miles on the engine it would be valuable to either add a 6 pack carb. or to find a challenger in need of its proper engine and make another Mopar legend. Many are interested in getting a 440 or the hemi engine dropped in and I can not argue with that as the car will be worth a small fortune as a Hemi clone.
