DETAILS: My intentions with this nice little 6-series was to fix or repair anything that needed attention and use it as my daily driver car. I did end up fixing all of the ailments, but my wife was recently let go from her job and we are now faced with needing a bit of cash. Unfortunately some of the extras need to go. The car has been brought up to a safe operable condition. I really went a little over board cleaning up the underside and the brake components on the car. I am very meticulous and working on cars is a therapeutic sort of escape for me. I methodically went from one end of the car to the other, looking for any trouble spots and I repaired all of them. Overall, this car has had all of the normal 6-series ailments addressed (such as the squeaky heater motor, the broken speedometer, poor idle conditions, and those sorts of issues). While I did address just about everything I came across, the car does have one issue. There is a drive line vibration at 25 to 30 mph that I have not yet had the time to fix yet. It is not a big deal really, but it is worth mentioning because I am honest and I know its there. My dad took a ride with me and he didn’t notice anything until I pointed it out to him. I am not trying to hide anything. It is a 26-year old car and is not perfect. What is true is that it starts, runs, changes gears, and stops as it should. This would be a great car for that student in High School or a great second car for the family to use; or maybe just a toy to take out for a cruise. All of the repairs, oil change and tune-up listed below have been done within the last 500 miles. The car is safe and ready for every day use. BODY & PAINT: Somewhere along the line, the car has had a paint job in its original color. It looks very nice and shines well, however, it is not perfect and does have some clear coat peeling here and there and there are a couple of dings. Nothing major that detracts from the cars overall nice appearance though. The body is 100% rust free. I have been under the car when I put it up on my lift and I can’t find a speck of rust anywhere. The glass is all good, no cracks.The chrome trim looks nice and is shiny.INTERIOR: Seats are nice, a little worn, but no rips or tears.The carpet is nice, no rips or tears.The door panels are nice, no damage on them.The headliner is in good condition, but shows some staining.The after market CD player works.All switches operate as they should.All lights work. The dashboard has some cracks as most do. Cruise-control works.Sun roof works, no leaks.WHEELS & TIRES: Wheels: BBS-RS 16” (HIGHLY sought after). They are straight and true, but do show a few spots of clear coat wear.Tires: Brand new (less than 200 miles on these tires) Hankook Ventus 225-50 R16.ENGINE: The engine bay and engine itself are very clean, not full of grease or grime like most. The engine was just tuned up and includes: new spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, distributor rotor, a new air filter, and a new fuel filter. At the time of the tune-up, the valves were also adjusted. I replaced all of the under-hood vacuum hoses and I also did a complete oil and filter change. The previous owner had a new alternator installed. I use the car around town. She starts up with no problem, idles well and runs nicely. I have been achieving about 17.5 mpg here in town. There are NO noises or smoke coming from the engine. It is very obvious that this car, while used, has never been abused. No warning lights are illuminated.TRANSMISSION: I looked at the transmission fluid when I got the car. It looked nice and red, and it smelled good so I did not see a need to change it. There are no leaks and it shifts well and is in good working condition. SUSPENSION & BRAKES: Rear suspension was overhauled and includes: new sub-frame bushings, differential mount, L&R Pittman arms, L&R sway bar drop links, L&R sway bar bushings. The rear brakes checked out good. The emergency brake hardware was all cleaned and lubricated. The emergency brake works as it should. Front suspension was overhauled and includes: new R side inner and outer tie rods, new center link, L&R sway bar bushings, L&R sway bar drop links, L&R upper control arms, and L&R strut tower bearings. The front brake pads were replaced with new ones. L front ABS sensor was replaced with a new unit. A 4-wheel alignment was just completed when the 4 new tires were installed. There are no noises, clunks, bangs, or anything else wrong with the suspension on this car. It handles VERY nicely and is very stable and predictable.
