Vehicle Detail
The truck has been in family possession since mid 60's. It's been parked in my shop from 1968-2000 and outside from 2000-present. Since being parked outside, two rust areas have shown up: one on the driverside hood and the other on the driverside between the lower fender and door. The floorboards and battery box are in great shape. Both fenders have some minor dents from tires being leaned on them. The cab, hood and fenders are original sheet metal. The bed was a custom build. The Truck was used by my dad as a tire-service truck for a small fleet of semi-trucks. The engine is the 239-V-8 4speed transmission and according to the glove box tag, the rear end is a 5.83 posi. The engine does run (see short youtube clip): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-fhmm2BGu0 Plus: 2 videos of the truck with doors/hood open and one closed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h71pcuRsqo0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOuUa8gG-_k According to my dad the engine was overhauled before being parked in 1968, but I have no way to confirm this. A seal on the water pump leaks and it doesn't have a muffler. The wheels are 17 inch and I believe to be original. The tires need to be replaced due to age. The glass is all there however the driverside windwing glass is broken and the windshield has a crack on the driverside. The windows roll up and down fine. The doors open and shut as they should. The truck still has the 6 volt positive ground system on it. I have a clear title pink slip. I had to get new plates, so it does not have the original black plates. It has a current non-op. I am selling the truck because I'd hate to see what could be a cool project truck waste away. It needs work, but it has alot of potential. The truck is located in Escondido, California. If you're local and would like to see the truck in person, I am more than willing to show it. Any questions or for more pictures, contact me before the end of the auction.
