Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1968 Ambassador SST Sports Coupe. This car has power disk brakes, cruise control, air conditioning, tilt wheel, and floor console. It has a Typhoon 343 4 barrel with possi track rear end. I am the second owner of this car as I bought it form the original owner. I have all the original paper work from the Rambler dealership minus the window sticker. It has the original title, it also has the owners manual and the service manual. As you can see in the pictures, the right rear upper quarter by the tail light was hit. The old boy I bought it from parked the car after being hit and was trying to repair it but never got to it and the car has set outside by his garage ever since. It still has all the original hub caps. The motor turns over freely. He told me it ran good when he parked it. I have not had a chance to rebuild the carborater and fuel pump or clean gas tank. The car has no rust, good solid body besides the dent and rear bumper. All the glass and trim is good except the plastic strip molding that runs down the side of the car is missing. For this car being over 40 years old, it would not take much to bring the old doll back to life again. The inside door panels and dash are in pretty nice shape. The seats have some split seams, The head liner is starting to sag alittle. As you know, in 1968 this was the first year for the SST model. This Sport Coupe has more options then most of the SST. If you have any questions feel free to contct me. Good luck and happy bidding. Due to alot of interest in the car I decided to get the car running. I purchased a new battery, cleaned the fuel pump and carburetor, and replaced the starter. After trying to start the car, I thought the starter was bad so I bought a new starter and found out that the flywheel is bad. The center of the flywheel is broke. This is common on AMC's. I just wanted to let everyone know upon buying this car. If the car does not sell in this auction I will replace the flywheel myself and relist it at a higher price. If you came and looked at this car in person you would see that it is a very nice solid car for restoring. Again, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
