Up for sale is my very good friend's 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Coesmetically, this Jeep is in great condition in comparison to other Jeeps of the same year / mileage. The interior is in very good condition as seen in pictures. It's only flaw being the roof interior head liner is sagging slightly but this is a common occurance in many Jeeps I have been in. Exterior of the jeep is likewise in similar condition with only a few minor cosmetic flaws. The paint is in very good condition, the only struggle i've had is the back door sometimes does not stay up on its own. Again, a common occurance in similar jeeps. The jeep is treated me well for over 40,000 miles, i've never had a problem with it until recently. I had the brake rotors and pads changed recently. I always changed the oil and did routine maintenance on the jeep religiously. The Jeep started to act up on me about 400 miles ago and I have not been able to track down the problem. At first it started making some noise coming from what seemed like the rear end, then it became very low on power, and sometimes would not even start. This turned out to be a bad catalytic converter that was clogged up. So we replaced the catalytic converter and the shop also replaced the TPS sensora after running a diagnostic. This was over $420 dollars. After this repair it idles okay and drives okay but its not quite the same as normal as it used to be. It has its power back but it just doesn't sound right. The jeep sat for over 5 months before doing the exhaust work, and has sat another 4 months since then and i've since purchased another vehicle as I was tired of working on it and dropping money into it. The head gasket blew and was changed a couple of years ago (This was over $1,000) to fix. As it sits right now, it will start up and after it gets warmed up it will idle and drive okay but its just not quite perfect. It goes through all the gears just fine its just a little shaky and i'm sick and tired of messing with it, I just want to get out from under it. This jeep is being sold AS-IS just like it sits. If you are skeptical about it, don't bid. Feel free to come take a look at it and ask me as many questions as you'd like. IT will need to be jumped to start I think the battery is dead from sitting for so long. Clear title in-hand, notarized and ready to go. It may be okay to drive it a short distance to its new home but in fear of damaging the engine or whatever is wrong with it, i'd recommend it be towed to be safe.
