I will try to describe this vehicle as good as I can if you're interested and have a question or would like to view it please feel free to call me at 909-754-8728 - John. This was a project that I have lost interest in and is not completed. This car was my grandfathers and was purchased from Fairview Ford, San Bernardino in the early 80's.Before it was torn down car was 100% complete running but was never restored and was at sometime switched to colonel white. The restoration to this point has been done to Classic Thunderbird Club International Specs. My father who was helping with this project was a technical editor for 55 thunderbirds in Early Birds for many years. I will start from the ground up describing what is new, restored, or original starting from the bottom up. All parts new parts ordered are from CASCO and I have all the receipts. Tires are old bias ply replicas and would recommend replacing they hold air but are very old. Wheels are correct size and are painted black they have not been restored. Have 4 Hubcaps but they are not in show condition. The Brake drums are good originals and on the car. I have all new brake hardware, shoes, spring kits, and wheel cylinders. Have new brake lines and a new master cylinder not installed. Have the original power brake unit not rebuilt. Have a new Fuel tank and new fuel lines both uninstalled. The frame was sand blasted and powder coated gloss black. Other parts blasted and powder coated are the rear end axle, rear leaf springs, front springs and upper and lower a arms. The engine is a 312 with ecgz heads and a 4 barrel Holley. The engine was rebuilt by Waynes engine rebuilding and hardened valves were installed. The engine has a new water pump, fuel pump. Engine has rebuilt power steering pump, carb, TACH DRIVE distributor with Pertronix breakerless ignition. New cap, rotor, coil and wires and loom holders. Engine was painted correct color and with correct bolts and hoses attached. Car has a rebuilt Ford-o-matic automatic transmission. Steering box has been rebuilt but is not the correct color. Has a new 3 row radiator as well as the original radiator. The body of the car is perfect and is painted in the correct Dusk Rose color. The body was done by Berdoo Auto body and all imperfections were repaired and 3 coats of clear were applied. The bodywork and paint totals were $17,562. All body parts are painted and the smaller ones like the vent doors, headlight buckets, and hood hinges are still wrapped in paper from the body shop. The car had no rust and all lead filler was removed and filled with plastic body filler. The lead can cause problems with the paint over time. The body was painted on a second thunderbird frame as to not bend the body and get a perfect paint job. The car has manual windows and seat. I have all the door hardware and glass the door panels and all interior vinyl would need to be replaced it is old and not presentable. The car is equipped with a fresh air heater and the town and country radio. The radio was working. The dash is original complete and needs the needles repainted but I have the new bezels and all new dash cover pieces. I removed the dash and it has been painted colonel white. I have a new dash pad as well as the dye but has yet to be colored. I have a new firewall cardboard and new insulation. All glass is complete but in fair condition. Steering wheel is original white and needs to be restored. Both front and rear bumpers have been rechromed and are still wrapped in paper from the plate company Hoak Brothers in San Bernardino. I forgot to get the steering column cover chromed it still needs to be done. The steering linkage is complete and i have new ball joints just not installed. The power steering ram has not been rebuilt. Exhaust system is new I bought the Stainless steel complete set from CASCO it is still boxed. Have new shocks still in boxes. The car will come with the soft top which is complete but in poor condition. I have the hard top and it will NOT go with the car but if the buyer is interested in it we can work something out it is an original porthole top that is unrestored. I have included a picture of the data plate which obviously matches the frame. The title is a clean California title with current non operational status. Im sure there is a ton of stuff I have left out please feel free to call me and ask all the questions you have. I will help with loading and shipping but this will need to be picked up from my warehouse in Fontana, Ca. I can hold car for a resoable time to give buyer time to pickup.
