Original “Z11” factory PACE CAR If you have been waiting for a quality, real deal 1969 Pace Car this may be the car for you. I would describe it as a good to go, high quality reliable driver. It appears to have all its original sheet metal including the rear quarters and trunk pan. No visible rust/rot on this Texas Pace Car. The floors are the best original UNTOUCHED floors I have ever seen on a 69 Camaro …. NO spray paint restoration, NO undercoating and NO patch panels. Seasoned car guys/gals know that this alone separates it from the vast majority of 42 year old Camaros out there. This beauty really turns heads. The paint has that high gloss wet look and the panel fit and alignment is above average with great fitting doors. The interior is show quality, the manual top is in good shape and the engine bay is super clean. The trunk has been re-sprayed with the proper GM spatter paint and has a new trunk mat properly installed. The original U69 jack is still with the car along with the spare. Everything works including the hideaways and the COLD factory Air Conditioning. The original AM radio comes with the car but is not installed. The car has a Pioneer CD player with great sound. COLD “AIR CONDITIONING” Air conditioning is a rare and “highly sought after option” in a Pace Car, (actually it’s rare for any Camaro “convertible” for that matter). Air conditioning allows you to enjoy the car on days that you would otherwise have to leave it in the garage. I just spent $1,400 UPDATING the air conditioning with “OLD AIR’s” modern components. The compressor looks similar to the original but puts far less “drag” on the motor, runs more efficiently and is not prone to the leaks of the original compressor. I also had the original “blower motor” replaced to get more air volume through the vents. I have a receipt for $1,400 documenting the work. Bottom line is …… this Pace Car has COLD air and it will stay cold. Driveline & performance Please take time to watch the “test drive” VIDEO. This baby will “GET IT”. However, the motor is not overbuilt ( NO shaking from an oversized cam, NO running hot, NO bad habits of any kind ). The all important “behind the wheel experience” is excellent. It is actually mild mannered and very nice to simply cruise in. It has ample “on demand” power, it shifts perfectly, steers with the palm of one hand and stops with absolute confidence. It is factory equipped with a 350 / 300hp V8, turbo 350 automatic tranny, 12 bolt rear end, Power Steering and Power DISC brakes. This is a super tight very responsive car. The motor was rebuilt at some point prior to my purchase of the car. The odometer is showing 2,186 miles, however I do not know the actual miles since new, nor do I know the miles since the rebuild. It is 42 years old and will be sold as mileage exempt. The motor in the car is a period correct 350 with a 3970010 casting but is not the motor installed at the factory. The block in the car is a desirable high nickel content 350 which was used in many applications including the 69 Camaro SS, 69 Z-28, Corvette and many more less noteable platforms. The car has a current Texas inspection and registration. You can fly in and drive it home with confidence ….. OR, I can ship worldwide.
