Vehicle Detail
Listing this on my room mates account, but can still answer all questions through the ask seller a question link. 1999 Pontiac Grand AM GT, Needs some TLC to be a very nice car. FIRST thing to get out of the WAY before describing everything I can. THIS CAR HAS A RECONSTRUCTED TITLE! (For those of you that are unfamiliar with that term, it means that the vehicle was at some point was damaged enough to be considered totaled by an insurance company. This could have been major damage or minor damage depending on age and mileage at the time. The vehicle has since then been repaired to meet or exceed manufactures specifications, and has passed a very thorough inspection by the issuing state to be considered road worthy again.) Now with that said, I will tell you everything I know about the car. It has custom aftermarket headlights, (see in pics) has a sweet sounding aftermarket exhaust system (previous owner said it cost them $400 in Nov, 2010) no receipt, so I have no idea but it sounds like a japanese import. New Battery in August 2010, interior lights are a nice red color, looks great in the dark. carpet could use a good cleaning. Car has Valid West Virginia state inspection sticker good through Nov, 2011. It has a 3.4 Liter V6 with automatic transmission, runs good, shifts good. very quick with plenty of power 150,??? on body, approximately 85,000 or so on replaced engine (as told to me by previous owner). spots of paint peeled off hood (pics should show) no major dents. Power steering does not work (could be pump or line leak, but not sure.. but a cheap pump is available at auto zone for $39.99). The steering is very STIFF until thats fixed. Previous owner told me thermostat recently replaced, said car used coolant on longer trips before it was changed, can smell coolant once car is warm (may have been spillage from changing thermostat, I did notice some sealer put around water pump, so that area could be the problem. I have had it in my garage running and haven't seen any leaks on my floor Ive driven the car about 60 miles or so since I got it, and it has not overheated or anything on me, temp gauge stays around the 200-210 range. (But these cars are known to have cooling system issues, so i cant guarantee everything is fine or not, I havent taken it on a long trip due to not being registered yet) So if your far away I would recommend towing until you make sure everything checks out ok. Drivers side window doesnt roll down, motor works, but window appears to be off track, pass. side and back windows work as they should. Power sunroof needs new switch, (someone took the old one out (its missing) and they never put new one back on.) Previous owner lost key so they put in an ignition switch and door locks from another grand am, will only unlock from pass. side, cant unlock from drivers side, feels like my be unhooked, no key for trunk, opens from button on front door. (However, there is a used GM trunk lock with KEY that comes with car that will fit, if you want to bust the lock and put the other one in.) The fan for heat/air works, but only on the highest setting, (hey, at least it works, lol, Ive seen some that dont.) The check engine light and the air bag light stay on. Car has a West Virginia (Reconstructed Title) signed by previous owner and ready to go. I did not register this car in my name, I buy and sell cars to make a little extra cash, so I didnt register it knowing I would be selling it soon. If you prefer that I get an OHIO title in my name, that can be done for an additional fee of $100 on top of winning bid to cover taxes, fees i would have to pay, plus for my time to have it done. I have described everything that I can think of and know about this car. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I will be happy to answer the ones that I can. Car is sold "AS IS" Payment due within 5 days of auction end, I prefer cash on pick up.
