Vehicle Detail
1959 Ford Fairlane 300 2 Door Police Car. Restored. VERY RARE. One of only a few units produced from the Ford factory as a TWO door 1959 Ford Fairlane 352 Interceptor POLICE car. Yes, this is an exceptionally rare TWO door police car especially designed by Ford for the Sheriff's / Police Chiefs. You see the mass produced 4 door police cars but you literally NEVER see the 2 door police models. This Fairlane has 86K original miles and went through a recent full frame-on restoration. Vehicle is all original with no custom mods, etc. Everything is in excellent working order. This retired police car was used in the Ft. Collins, Colorado fleet. There are a few unique attributes on this vehicle that sets it apart from the stock Ford factory Fairlanes including; siren mount behind front grill, spotlight, small drill holes where shotgun holder sat and the light and siren (not mounted and holes were filled on roof during restoration but could be remounted easily if new owner desires). Keep as a stock 2 door or turn back into a police car? I have been offered $3500 for the Federal Sign and Signal Corporation Siren and Police light alone. If car does NOT hit the reserve, then I would consider selling the siren and light separately but, otherwise, it IS included with the car sale. Full restoration including, professional paint and bodywork, undercarriage detail, mechanics, engine compartment detail, interior, trunk liner, chrome, etc, etc. Brand new tires. Rust free and no accident history. No leaks. Fires up and drivers straight and strong. Door gaps, trunk gaps and hood gaps fit perfectly. This is one of the straightest Fairlanes I have ever seen. Original Ford stamped glass remains in-tacked and nice. The only imperfections (very minor) are i). Rear window has the original window striping which shows age (see pics); ii). Small ding in front grill (see pic) and iii). A little spot of overspray on bottom of drivers door (to small to photograph). Over $25K invested in this car and this may be one of the straightest Fairlanes in existence. NOTE: Zero feedback buyers please call before bidding or I will cancel your bid. I take my auctions serious with 100% integrity and ask that you do the same. Do not bid unless you have funds available to buy for you are entering into a legal contract. Check my feedback. 128 transactions and 127 positive feedbacks!!! Not no reserve but the reserve is less than half of the restoration costs. I reserve the right to stop this auction at any time. Call with offers. I will sell Worldwide and have sold some of my collection international and can provide references. Call 303-725-2671 with any questions. 1959 Ford Police Car Brochure: "Emphasizing the popularity of their police cars, Ford claimed they were America's best-selling "by far". Safety was still an important selling point as indicated by references to "All-around Lifeguard Design", "Double-Sealed Brakes", and "Double-Grip Door Locks", among others. Biggest engine was the 300 hp Police Interceptor 352 Special V-8. The new 2-speed Fordomatic was not available with this engine, but the 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic was." Here is a video of the car running: On Mar-01-11 at 20:26:18 PST, seller added the following information: On Mar-01-11 at 20:34:52 PST, seller added the following information: Sorry about the pictures. The original link / picture page failed so I had to repost all the detailed pictures. Not a computer guy. Sorry. Thanks for all of the overwhelming interest. Chris
