Vehicle Detail
OK you Mopar lovers, here is one for you! This is an absolutely STUNNING ALL ORIGINAL UN-RESTORED "SURVIVOR" 1965 Plymouth Fury III 2-door Sport Coupe! This unbelievable time capsule was owned by the proverbial "little old lady" and has only had 33,000 TOTAL MILES SINCE NEW!!!! This car is breath-taking and simply amazing for its immaculate un-restored condition! I have been around cars old and new for many years, and I can say without reservation that this car is nicer and cleaner than many 2 year old cars I have seen! To sum up the overall condition of this Fury, I would say the best way to describe it is that if you had a time machine that could take you back to late 1966 or early 1967, this is what you would have seen as a late model 2 year old car at your local Chrysler-Plymouth dealer's used car department for sale. This would have been a "Cream Puff" trade-in by a fastidious owner who bought new cars every couple of years (as many people did back then), and wound up on the "front line" of the used car lot at the dealership. Although this car has 33,000 miles, in my opinion, it could easily pass for half of that! Everywhere you look this car is ALL ORIGINAL! From the still glossy and smooth white paint, to the bright chrome trim (inside and out), to the still supple-as-new black vinyl upholstery! Original finish is just immaculate, with just a few very small door dings. Car has NEVER been wrecked or damaged. Bumpers, mouldings and exterior trim are crisp, bright, and not dented. Carpet, seat upholstery, headliner, door panels, and arm rests all look like new! In fact, when you roll the windows up, and sit inside, you can still catch a whiff of that original "new car smell". I took the mat, spare, and jack out to show you good pictures of the trunk floor, but rest assured, all these items are present and are included with the car. Engine bay is also very clean un-restored original with the exception that someone did a nice job of painting the orange paint of engine block itself. This Fury is equipped with the 318/2bbl "wide block" V8, "Torque-Flite" 3-speed automatic transmission, power steering, radio, heater, factory fender skirts, dual exhaust, and "Magnum 500" style optional wheels. The car originally came with steel wheels and deluxe wheel covers that look like mags; these are all in nice condition, and are also included with the car. The "bullet proof" 318 and "Torque-Flite" perform effortlessly and powerfully with no smoke, leakage, or odd noises. On a recent 240 mile trip, I avearaged nearly 22 MPG. I have regularly been getting 17-18MPG in local driving, all on 87 octane regular pump gas. Car steers and handles beautifully. I can't think of any issues with this car except that the radio doesn't play properly. It comes on, but instead of music, you just get a bunch of static. I suspect a loose antenna wire or connection, but am not a radio expert and have not really checked it. The following items have recently been updated or replaced to make sure the car is reliable: 1. Battery 2. Oil, lube, filter 3. Tune-up 4. Carburetor rebuilt 5. New radial tires and alignment 6. New dual exhaust 7. Brakes and wheel cylinders replaced This Fury starts right up even after sitting for a week or two. There is no smoke, foreign noise, or burning. I would not be afraid to drive this car anywhere! Last weekend I drove it round trip 240 miles in 1 day with no problems at all. These 60s Chrysler products were very well built and well engineered. If cars this good were still being made, they wouldn't be bankrupt! Don't miss this rolling piece of history! Please feel free to contact me with any questions at 704-661-1326. Thank you! It should be noted that "Survivor" (all original, well kept, un-altered) cars are the up and coming thing in the collector car hobby. A car is only new and original once! If someone Gave you a "basket case" or "project car" for free, you could not restore it or turn it into the quality of this car for the price you can purchase this one for. These cars are a lot better than the volatile paper investments, plus they are something you can really enjoy as a family, too! About me: I collect and fool with nice un-restored vintage "survvor" cars from the late 1950s to the early 1980s. I keep a "rotating collection" of about 6 cars. I will sometimes sell a car out of the collection to make way for a new arrival. This is one of those cars. I also somtimes will offer a nice inexpensive regular used auto for sale. I have been at the same location for over 23 years, and have been an old car hobbyist for over 35 years! Again, please call me at 704-661-1326 with any questions. Now for the rules: 1. Your bid is a contract! If you are the successful bidder, you are expected to pay! Please have all contingencies handled and your money in place BEFORE you bid! 2. A NON-REFUNDABLE $2000 partial payment is due within 48 hours of auction's conclusion. This can be by bank wire transfer aor cashiers check. Pay Pal is NOT acceptable for this. 3. Balance is due within 7 days of auction's close. This can be by bank wire transfer, cashiers check or cash in person. If you are paying balance upon pickup of car, it must be cash in person. 4. Car and title will not leave here until paid in full with cleared funds. No exceptions! 5. Car is sold strictly as-is at my pemisies with no guarantee or warranty of any kind. 6. Transportation is the buyer's responsibility. I will try to reasonably help and accommodate you any way I can, but it still YOUR responsibility. 7. I understand with winter weather, you may not want to pick up car right away. That is fine, I will work with you to keep car here for a reasonable amount of time. However, car still must be paid for within the 7 days, and I am not responsible for acts of God or circumstances beyond my control. You should arrange insurance on the car while it is here as I cannot be responsible for this. 8. An administrative fee of $150.00 will be charged in addition to the bid price. This goes toward my advertising expenses, paperwork, temp tag, etc. It does not cover all of these expenses, but goes toward defraying some of them. 9. Car is advertised locally for sale. If I find a buyer through that venue, I reserve the right to end auction early. Please call me at 704-661-1326 with any further questions about this. I am sorry for all the rules, but it seems that 5% of difficult people spoil it for the 95% who are good. Thanks very much for looking! Again, please feel free to call 704-661-1326 with any questions. Spring is just around the corner! Now is the time to buy a nice classic car, as prices will only be higher then! Thanks for looking, asking, and bidding!
