Hey Merkur guys, here is a great opportunity to own a low mileage XR4TI at no reserve!! This 1987 is the best color for these cars and is the must have 5 speed transmission. Title is stamped exempt but the low 49XXX miles are believed accurate. This one is not rusty, no big dings, chips or scratches and has very decent original paint. I did have a local bodyshop respray the nose due to bug/ stone chips and it looks great !! Interior is in very nice shape, seats, headliner dash etc. are all good. Factory alloy wheels with good tread tires. New struts for the hatch just put on. There are a few nuisance items on the list that the next owner will have to deal with, stereo sucks and antenna mast is broken, fuel guage inop. and i dont know why,(usually a grounding issue somewhere),there is no prop rod for the hood, (broom handle included) and there is a chunk missing from the outer timing belt cover, (same as any 4 cyl Ranger etc.,cheap and any junk yard will have one for a few bucks.) I really dont want to spend any more time and money on the car because maybe the next owner wants to modify/customize/race or whatever. These would make an excellent drift car because the 2.3 motors respond very well to high performance modifications. Great looking car, fun to drive with its perfect 50/50 weight distribution. I sold these new back in the 80's in Los Angeles, attended the Lincoln Mercury sponsored high performance driving clinic and was paired with Lynn St. James and man could she ever wring these cars out !!! I am a licensed and bonded dealer in Minn., hold clear title to car and will follow all state laws to the "T". I require a $500.00 non-refundable deposit thru Pay-pal with-in 48 hours of auction ending so if that is a problem, please dont bid !!
