Up for auction NO RESERVE is a 1983 Jeep CJ8. This Jeep is currently registered, Drivable, and in good mechanical condition. It is however a rolling project and needs to be restored. The paint job is poor. The previous owner had a cheap paint job done and it is chiped in many places and the preperation before the paint job had to be very minimal. The jeep has some rust issues that need to be addressed. Nothing through the body however. The rust at the bottom driver side ahead of the door is probably the deepest but the underside of the bed also needs to be cleaned up and repainted (see pictures) This Jeep is mostly stock but does have a 3" pro comp spring lift. The jeep has power steering and powrer brakes (front disc). It has a strong running 6 cylinder motor, EFI ignition, and a Motorcraft 2barrel carb. Because of the changes in carburator and ignition I am not sure if it will pass emmisions. It does pass safety. The Jeep has a 5 speed manual transmision and cruises at freeway speeds no problem. 2 years ago I drove this Jeep from Salt Lake City to Moab Utah ran 7 mile rim and few smaller trails and drove back. It was a long rough ride but I didnt have any concerns that it wouldnt make it. Dana 300 transfer case, Dana 30 front axel and a Model 20 axel in the back. Seats are a little worn and I cant hear the radio much at freeway speeds. All gauges work, New clutch and throw out bearing less than 1000 miles ago. Tires have 80% tread.
