Vehicle Detail
CB550 cafe. This bike has just been newly completed by me and is ready for the road. I've done a complete engine out of frame restoration with new swing arm and steering bearing. All of the paint that I have used is professional grade paint. The custom bodywork is in a classic 50's era sea foam green. With the black and gold the color scheme really turned out. All stock wiring and gauges have been retained. The engine has been gone through completly recieving all new high quality seals and gaskets after everything recieved a close inspection, tolerences were all checked and found to be in spec. the engine looked great except for some valve work that needed to be done. The head was ported, surfaced, the valves and seats ground, new exhaust guides installed, valve stem seals... The crank shaft has been lightened and dynamically balanced, the cylinders recieved a fresh hone. The carbs are rebuilt and jetted though it could be leaner (maybe by the time of sale). Part of the crank shaft lightening was the removal of the starter clutch assembly and stater. That's right, this bike is kick start only though it usually starts in one or two kicks. The bike is ultra smooth, has great usable power from down low to high up in the RPM's, and she really kicks from 7000 up. Also it's very light especailly in the handling due to the lighter crank and smaller front wheel. It would be very easy to convert back to stock wheels as the frame has not been modified. Parts List : CBR wheels, forks, and front brakes. Bandit rear brake. Boge rebuildable shocks. Needle bearing swing arm bushings. Tapered steering head bearings. RK 520 x-ring chain with new sprockets. high performace tires, Yusa battery Performance : Dyna S and coils, port work , lightend cranks, dynamically balanced, Kerker, SuperTrap, velocity stacks... Note : The tail had not been fully riveted and the velocity stacks were off at the time of the pictures. I am willing to transport the bike to Sacramento area upon auction ending and the deposit being paid. If the bike is to be shipped I am willing to help crate up the bike but other than that it is the buyer's responsibility to arrange shipping. On Feb-12-11 at 13:47:49 PST, seller added the following information: I can also be contacted @ 530 961 2859 if you have any questions about the bike. I am going to try and post a video of the bike on to youtube so bidders can see and hear it run though the sound on the camera isn't very good.
