Vehicle Detail

For Auction: 1977 Mercedes Benz L.5 300D Diesel 4 door sedan. NO RESERVE PRICE! "Many consider the 123 chassis Mercedes to be one of the best mass-produced cars produced by any manufacturer, with many examples still on the road today in countries all over the world. It has been reported that taxi cab drivers from all over Europe picketed the factory when the end production of the 123 was announced in the mid 1980's" Top Ten reasons to own a 123 chassis Mercedes... 1. There are still good examples to choose from. 2. They are a great combination of drivability, safety, economy, and ease of maintenance. 3. The diesel models are one of the best driving and safest cars you can put a new young driver into. 4. Both new and used parts are readily available and relatively inexpensive. 5. I regard the 123 chassis as the best choice for a novice driveway mechanic who wants to do all his own maintenance. This is a real do-it-yourself automobile. 6. Although not considered a collector car the do maintain their value if properly cared for and maintained. 7. The all cast iron engines are very rugged; they produce good power and torque, deliver great fuel economy and are easy to work on. 8. They are still an attractive car with classic styling... the "real" Mercedes-Benz look. 9. The diesel models have what I consider to be one of the most rugged automobile engines ever produced by any manufacturer. 10. These same diesel models provide great fuel economy and made great candidates for conversion to bio diesel or Waste Veggie oil conversion cars. Condition: Well for the age this is a rare find, the body is great and the paint still looks new with few blemishes. With only 164,000 miles on this engine (the most dependable and longest lasting engine ever made :o).... this car could last the rest of our lives. The interior needs a detail job. Unblemished or cracked dashboard, nothing seems to be missing or out of service... This car starts in the coldest of days on the first try every time. Condition of the engine and mechanics of this car seems all in order, except a slow unknown electrical draw on the battery, so once in a while I charge the battery. Features: Sunroof opens slowly, but also a manual nut opens and closes it fine. I had plan to replace the seal in all the windows and window felts... Youtube video showing a 'cold-start'... a short drive.. and a walk around inspection. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kPyIglCTMo Thanks for looking...
