Vehicle Detail
Up for auction here is a 1953 GMC half ton pickup. This is a project that i have decided to sell because im in the service and don't have the time. I believe i am the third owner of the truck, and have title in hand. However i havnt gotten around to putting it in my name, but it has been signed by the previous owners (in 1990) The truck was originally built in oakland california in 1953, and has remained in california since. It has been garage kept for the last 30 years. It has the original motor and transmission. The truck does run, but is not drivable. It sounds great and doesn't smoke. It has later model chevy wheels on it, however the original factory wheels are included. It is a 1/2 ton short bed truck. It has VERY little to NO body cancer. No bondo was ever used or patches ever welded into the sheet metal. No rust thru on the floor pans, and the cab corners ALL look great including around the windows! This truck has never been wrecked. The horns are in perfect shape. The truck has been taken off the frame at one time, and the frame has been sandblasted and painted. The bed is just sitting on the frame, fenders are on but arnt all the way bolted down. It was basically mocked up to move. This also comes with the original GMC tail gate with a dent on the top. It is a 4 speed manual transmission, that shifts but is stiff. Has original door glass in it, but no windshield or rear window. The hood has a dent in it, but it also comes with an original 1953 hood in better condition, there are also a few boxes of extra MISC parts that are also included in this auction. For an old farm truck this thing has really been babied. It does have a few typical dents around the fenders that are expected in an old truck. I prefer local pickup however if you arrange and pay for all shipping I will ship. This truck must be towed as it runs but is not in drivable condition. This is a perfect candidate for an original restoration project. Also note some of these pictures were taken before i mocked the rest of it up. The interior seat has been put together, the front grill and emblems have been put on, running boards etc are all now mocked up. Willing to entertain offers. On Feb-07-11 at 15:22:56 PST, seller added the following information: I just wanted to update and say that i have been getting several requests to end the auction early and sell for a set amount. Im willing to do this for the first person who can come up with the cash. Please dont email and ask me if you can pay later. Immediate deposit via paypal is required and if your from out of town a MO must be sent the next business day for the remaining amount. Or you can pay the whole sum via PAYPAL however it will cost you an extra 3%. And if your from around here CASH in person is always excepted. Also you must be able to pick up within a reasonable amount of time. And unless you talk to me and work out a storage arrangement there will be a 50$ storage charge per month that i have to store it. After May 7th, i reserve the right to relist the auction with no refunds. Also for those that are wondering the engine is a 228 CI.
