1979 Honda Gold Wing

You are bidding on a 1979 Honda Goldwing GL1000 with original vetter fairings/removable boxes. The rear lower vetter fairings are also included. The motorcycle ran great when last ridden in 09/09. Overall the cycle is mechanically sound. The bike has aftermarket exhaust, dyna ignition and rear shocks/springs. These improvements alone cost several hundred dollars. The bike has been in storage and is slow starting and idles roughly. There are some cosmetic issues, paint scratches, surface rust, etc..(see photos) The original vetter radio boxes were previously modified to accept newer style speakers. The original battery sidecover is cracked /broken but still works. I purchased two used sidecovers (not installed) that will be included in the sale of the bike. Overall the motorycle is in very good condition for a 30+ year old bike. It is in rideable condition but needs a good tune-up and regular riding. The bike started and ran roughly without any engine noises for a few minutes.The engine then died and would not start I put a small amount of gas into the carb breather and it immediately started ran until the gas was gone. I would say the problem is with the carbs being dirty as ebay member described.The title is clear and not R title. I also noticed the radio box has a crack on the top. I had forgotten the headlight was wired to a switch by prior owner but functions perfect. This is basically what I know about the bike so bid accordingly,I will try to answer any questions as always.
