Vehicle Detail

This is a beautiful, unmolested example of a 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible that you can drive and enjoy the day that you get it. This car will bring you and the family years of top down cruising! If you have been looking for a true original stock classic convertible, this is a great car. It is what is known in the hobby as a "SURVIVOR", which is basically an original un-restored car that has not been modified or hot rodded. It has all its original body panels, floor pans, and trunk pan, with no patch panels. Other than one really nice repaint to the original color many years ago, this car is all stock! I think you will have a difficult time finding a nicer, cleaner car especially for the money! It makes a very nice appearance and presentation. It is evident that it has spent much of its time in a garage and not out in the elements. It is a California car and the body, floorboards, frame, and trunk pan are all exceptionally nice! The paint has a nice glossy finish. It is Butternut Yellow (GM also had the name Saffron Yellow for this color in 1967) with a complementing Parchment soft top and interior. The body is very straight. The doors close nicely. The floorboards are beautiful and have no rust, no repairs, and no undercoating. The trunk pan is also excellent and extremely solid. You won't find one this clean if it's from the East Coast or Midwest. If you are looking for a Hot Rod, this is not it! It is completely stock. It is factory right down to the original AM radio and the original painted-to-match steel wheels with original hubcaps and whitewall tires. Power steering and power top. The car runs and drives very well. It is smooth and has a surprising amount of power. It is one of 562 made in 1967 with the 250 c.i. six cylinder. Before you write it off as being underpowered and that you have to have a V-8, I am positive that the first time you drive the Cutlass you will be pleasantly surprised and not give it another thought. In this time of rising gas prices, this is a nice classic convertible that you can run on 87 octane, and get over 20 MPG! It is whisper quiet and runs far, far too nicely to cut it up and install a big block. Although if you already have your big V8 ready to go this could be an outstanding platform to build your dream Pro Touring ride or build your 442 clone! This Cutlass is the exact same body style as a 1967 442, so it would be easy to make into a "Tribute" car. It has a new fuel pump and fresh tune-up. The brakes were also just re-done. The bumpers and chrome are in beautiful original condition! The interior is also really nice. The seats and door panels look great and have no rips or tears. Carpet is also clean and not ripped. The convertible top is in excellent condition. The back window is nice and clear. It goes up and down easily with the push of a switch. I also have the boot for it that goes over the top when it is down. This car is solid and will only appreciate in value. Why put your money in the bank when you could have a solid appreciating asset that is fun to drive and is a hedge against inflation? Engine and transmission run strong. Was recently driven on a 250 mile trip with no problems or issues. The following items have recently been up-graded on this car: 1. Radial whitewall tires 2. New hoses and cooling system flushed 3. new battery 4. New alternator and regulator 5. Carburetor rebuilt 6. New fuel pump 7. New brakes 8, Full tune-up including plugs, cap, rotor, points, wires, vac advance, filters, etc. 9. Stock exhaust replaced. There are 2 minor issues with the car that you should be aware of and may want to have corrected at nominal cost if you buy this car. They are cosmetic and do not affect the driving or safety of the car: 1. The original steering wheel is cracked. There are people who restore these, or I have noticed that here on Ebay, you can find good used stock wheels or even reproductions of the optional simulated wood "sport steering wheel" for this car in the $120 to $150 range. 2. When the car was in the garage some years ago, a weed trimmer that was suspended from the ceiling came loose and struck the car in the top rear corner of the left rear fender, chipping the paint and causing a small dent in that spot. I have shown a close-up of it in one of the photos. The chipped paint has been touched up with an artists brush, but the ding in the metal is still there. Also, in the same left rear quarter, just in front of the wheel well, there were a few small chips and nicks probably from stones kicking up while driving. Again, these have been touched up with an artists brush. These are way down low and not noticeable. The touch-up paint color matched well, but I did want to call attention to these minor imperfections. The rest of the paint looks great with consistency of color and smooth high gloss; NOT faded or "washed out" looking. Un-molested "survivor" cars are the up and coming thing in the collector car hobby. They are only stock and original once! You can have a nice non-depreciating classic 60s convertible that is easy to work on for less than the price of most late model plastic computerized "throwaway" used cars! Remember, spring is less than 60 days away! Forget the snow and think of those wind in your hair fun sunny days that are just around the corner! About me: I collect and fool with nice un-restored vintage "survvor" cars from the late 1950s to the early 1980s. I keep a "rotating collection" of about 6 cars. I will sometimes sell a car out of the collection to make some room. This is one of those cars. I also somtimes will offer a nice inexpensive regular used auto for sale. I have been at the same location for over 23 years, and have been an old car hobbyist for over 35 years! Again, please call me at 704-661-1326 with any questions. Thanks for looking! Now for the rules: 1. Your bid is a contract! If you are the successful bidder, you are expected to pay! Please have all contingencies handled and your money in place BEFORE you bid! 2. A NON-REFUNDABLE $2500 partial payment is due within 48 hours of auction's conclusion. This can be by bank wire transfer aor cashiers check. Pay Pal is NOT acceptable for this. 3. Balance is due within 7 days of auction's close. This can be by bank wire transfer, cashiers check or cash in person. If you are paying balance upon pickup of car, it must be cash in person. 4. Car and title will not leave here until paid in full with cleared funds. No exceptions! 5. Car is sold strictly as-is at my pemisies with no guarantee or warranty of any kind. 6. Transportation is the buyer's responsibility. I will try to reasonably help and accommodate you any way I can, but it still YOUR responsibility. 7. I understand with winter weather, you may not want to pick up car right away. That is fine, I will work with you to keep car here for a reasonable amount of time. However, car still must be paid for within the 7 days, and I am not responsible for acts of God or circumstances beyond my control. You should arrange insurance on the car while it is here as I cannot be responsible for this. 8. An administrative fee of $125.00 will be charged in addition to the bid price. This goes toward my advertising expenses, paperwork, temp tag, etc. It does not cover all of these expenses, but goes toward defraying some of them. 9. Car is advertised locally for sale. If I find a buyer through that venue, I reserve the right to end auction early. Please call me at 704-661-1326 with any further questions about this. 10. VERY IMPORTANT: If you have a question about this car, I WILL DO IT BY PHONE CALL ONLY!!! I am sorry, but there have been too many scams, spams, and non-interested curiosity seekers lately in E-mails on these cars. If you have a question about payment, buying the car, transportation, condition etc, CALL ME 704-661-1326. E-mail questions will no longer be answered. Thanks very much for your cooperation and understanding on this. I am sorry for all the rules, but it seems that 5% of difficult people spoil it for the 95% who are good. Thanks very much for looking! Again, please feel free to call 704-661-1326 with any questions.
