I just can't say enough about this exceptional car. It is re-painted Apline Blue which was the color it was originally ordered in. The factory Hurst shifter is amazing and the chrome shines like new. Most of these were taken out or abused to the point of being replaced by some other piece of crap. Everytime I take this car out of the garage and stop somewhere someone trys to buy it from me. Unfortuantely its the middle of the winter here in Oregon and it is garaged so I won't be cruising in her at this point . I will have to sell it through EBAY. Absolutley everything on this car has been refurbished or rebuilt. You will be very pleased with this one. It has so much power that when you rev the engine it torks the car. Very intimidating to those on the outside. LOL. Kind of like a tiger on the prowel. I get these guys with their loud noise foreign cars that are all mufflers come up next to me and rev their engines. Once I crank up the Firebird they will look the other way and drive off. LOL, sometimes I laugh so hard I almost pee my pants. Seriously, this car runs as good as it looks and it is a very high option muscle car from the 60's. You won't find many of these out there any more. A serious piece of Muscle car history. I am also throwing in a die cast scale model of the Firebird 400, also in the Alpine Blue color. I will attach a picture. Please ask all questions before you bid and please, serious bidders only. On Feb-07-11 at 19:43:07 PST, seller added the following information: The engine code on the car is 9792968 Pontiac 428, look it up at the below web site. Maybe Ram Air engine I can't see all the letters on the block. The car does have a metal Ram air setup on the carb and hood with open air scoopes. I assumed it was an add on but maybe not. I don't care at this point, who ever bids the highest gets this gem. http://www.yearone.com/updatedsinglepages/id_info/pontiacengineid/pontengid1.html The car is extremely nice and I will be letting the auction go on until the end. I am the second owner and I am selling it because its time to do something else now that I am in my 60's. Please don't ask me to end the auction early. I will post more pictures this weekend. On Feb-08-11 at 08:10:57 PST, seller added the following information: Sine I have had so many questions about the engine in this firey little beast I have been doing some research on the engine as it is block coded as a Pontiac 428 and have found the following information: In 1967 the 421 was bored to 4 1/8 in (104.8 mm), increasing its displacement to 427.6 cu in (7,007 cc). The 428 had the same 4.00" stroke as the 421, and was produced from 1967 to 1969. This engine produced 370 hp (280 kW), or 390 hp (290 kW) in High Output (H.O.) form. The crankshaft in the 428 also had a N cast on them as opposed to the 421's Armasteel. In 1969, Pontiac also used a revised crankshaft out of a Pearlitic malleable iron, although it still used the" N" casting letter. This new material had stronger alloys in the iron. All 428 engines were factory install in large cars only. However, there were a few dealers that would install a 428 in a customers GTO or Firebird for higher power levels. My guess now is that this engine was installed when new at the dealer for the original owner. On Feb-08-11 at 21:01:19 PST, seller added the following information: Body Tag Info 11E ST 68-22637 LOR 9936 Body TR-269 Paint Code D2On Feb-08-11 at 22:06:45 PST, seller added the following information: I have attached a uTube video of the car. For some reason I lost the one with the engine running so I will try to redo tht one this weekend and post it on this listing. But until then here is a walkaround of the car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdbzqR2F2b8On Feb-11-11 at 11:54:23 PST, seller added the following information: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoeQOJgZjlQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEoQOJ75J9I OK, I have a crappy camara with limited sound quality but I was able to record a couple of videos/audios of the car running. In the first one I reved the engine but it sound track doesn't do it any justice. You might notice the car torqueing when the car is reved. No it doesn't have broken motor mounts because they are new. It just thas so much power it torques the car. Pretty intimidating to the guys in the cars next to you. I then turned off the engine and turned on the radio then the reverb unit. It was what was used before there was stereo hifi and gave the radio or 8 track unit an echo chamber effect. Pretty popular back in the late sixties. As we would say it was really "BITCHIN" LOL, Sorry but again it is a little hard to hear. You can also see the factory rally guages which were used instead of idiot lights. This was a special option back in those days as was a lot of other stuff on this car. The second video is of the car idleing and you can certainly hear the Lanati cam loping. Sorry, but its the best I could do over the internet. I did try the air conditioning as I haven't used it in years. It blew cool. Thats the best I can describe it. All the functions on the heating and cooling unit, defrost and upper & ;lower blowing all worked as does all the other switches on the dash. Wipers, horn, lights, blinkers, console clock, electronic trunk release with the button in the glove box, etc. Keep in mind while you are bidding. This is a car that was made 43 years ago. It is mostly mechanicle and you have to Drive these things. They are not like todays cars they pretty much drive you. Thats why they called them MUSCLE cars. LOL The power steering also works well if you were wondering. Also the car has front disc brakes and rear drum. It came from the factory this way. I took a few more pictures of the trunk without the mat, windows, door jams, etc. E-mail me and I will send them. On Feb-11-11 at 17:03:56 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that when the tannsmission was rebuilt and reinstalled a new heavy duty Hays clutch disc and clutch pressure plate were installed. They were purchased from Summit Racing. I am sure there are a lot of other things I have forgotten about the car. If I remimber any more I will add them as the auction goes on.On Feb-11-11 at 17:08:26 PST, seller added the following information: "Transmission" - please excuse my spelling, the 5th grade was my senior year! LOL
