1973 Dodge Challenger. Original 318 3spd straight shift car. Car now has professionally built 440 and a 4 spd transmission. This is a running driving project car that is very solid. ENGINE - 1974 440, steel crank, bored 40 over with flatop pistions, blue printed and balanced, 484 purple shaft cam, 67 model 915 casting heads, 2.14 & 1.81 valves, aftermarket springs and retainers, adjustable push rods, mopar performance valve covers, new rocker arms, shafts, and hold downs, offenhauser alum intake, 750 holley, long tube headers. Engine has about 500 miles since build, no leaks. Has electronic ignition. TRANSMISSON - 23 spline 4 spd, fresh paint, fluids, reseal, new clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. Hurst competition plus pistol grip shifter. Transmission shifts and works very well. REAR END - b body 8 3/4, 391 gears, sure grip posi, new u joint, springs have been relocated. This allows for a ten inch wide wheel with at least a 295 rear tire. BODY - body is very solid for an un-restored car. The floor pans, frame rails, trunk floor, and window channels have NO rust. The doors are perfect, has very nice R/T hood with no rust, drivers-side fender is nice with no rust, however the passenger-side fender was damaged, but is repairable and solid. For the time being, i have put a fiberglass fender on that side and have the match to it as well, and i still have the damaged fender. In the picture, the splash pans, mirrors, and front bumper are not installed but are included. In 1999, the car was stripped to bare metal and put in grey primer. The only puddy in this car is in the lower quarters, only covering pin holes. The rest of the car is original metal and in nice shape. Headlights and tailights work. INTERIOR - All interior is present and intact. Has brand new carpet, new trunk mat, the dash pad has cracks, the headliner could be replaced, the seats will need recovered, door panels are very nice, interior although needing the things listed looks very good considering all dash lights, dome light, radio, cigarette lighter, and heater work well. All windows roll up and down properly. Has nice ralley gauges, and although it was not an original console car, i do have a very nice 4spd console for it. Car has power steering and manual disc brakes and came that way from the factory. WHEELS - Currently has 15x3.5 and 15x8 weld draglights. Moroso front runners are shot, but i have a nice set of metric 165's to go with. Rear tires are 235/60/15's and will need replaced. Like stated above, this is a project car, but is running and driving. By that, I dont mean i drove it around the yard, it means its dependable and i have driven it around town several times with no problems. Car is very fun and turns heads everywhere as is.
