1951 Hudson Commodore 8 sedan. 254 CI straight 8 engine with std shift overdrive. I bought this car in 2001 from a club member who had acquired it from a movie studio warehouse that was selling its surplus vehicles. This Hudson was used in the movie "Murder in the Heartland" (the Starkweather story) which in reality took place in Lincoln, NE in 1959. I thought it belonged back home where this all took place. This car was re-upholstered and carpeted by the movie people who painted it black. It now needs to be repainted. Some of the pot metal casting pieces were pitted badly. I replaced most with pieces I had. The dash panel is pitted but I have a replacement that goes with the car. Two rear door glasses are cracked. I have a used replacement for the right rear. The windshields were frosted so I put in nice tinted windshields (also used). The car runs and drives but the overdrive doesn't engage -- just free-wheels, probably an electrical problem. The straight 8 could use freshening up with a valve job. It has a remote oil filter (modern) for easy replacement. The front brakes and shocks have been replaced. The master cylinder leaks and needs rebuilt. The tires and wheels are okay but are old steel belts. The motor picture doesn't show battery since the car is stored outside. I lost storage due to a fire and I am selling some of my cars to finance a replacement. Call or email me if you have any questions or need this car delivered. I do haul cars and charge accordingly.
