Vehicle Detail

Here is a Very Rare 1970 Mercury Cougar Q-code, (1 of 243) wich came equipped from the Factory with the very desireable 428 CJ Big Block Engine. All Original Drivetrain with Buck tag still in place. Also only (1 of 247) 1970 Cougars were painted Cardinal Red T-code with Black Decor Interior, very nice color combination with the Original dealer installed Vinyl roof that is still in great condition. This Cougar was in a collection for nearly 25 years and was always stored in a heated garage. The Body Panels are perfect with only one repaint 3 years ago of the Original color Cardinal Red, No patches on the rear quarters like most have, or on the floor/trunkpans, all Original Rust-Free Original Frame Rails/Fender Aprons, The Engine Compartment looks great, very straight lines with no dents/dings, The interior is mostly Original and hard to believe, even the Original Carpet/underlayment look like new with the Original scent from back in 1970. The dash pad is also very nice, The Original AM/FM Stereo is pulled out to be restored and will be included, I believe only the headliner was replaced, I have had 75 Cougars over the years and have not seen one in this condition and being a Q-Code makes this Cougar Very Collectible, I have only come across (4) Q-code Cougars in 25 Years since I have been buying them. The Engine Purrs and runs very quietly for a Big Block, was going to install some flowmasters but will leave it up to the next owner, this car literally handles like a brand new car when driving, you will not believe you are diving a 40 year old Cougar. Has Power Steering/Power Disc Brakes on the Front, AM/FM Stereo, Courtesy lights, Decor Group, Factory A/C which is still hooked up and blows Cold, Factory Console with No cracks, even the Original Console lid is nice with no cracks, has the very rear Intermittent Windshield wipers. The Original decor interior is still very Nice, the door panels are nearly perfect with no tears. The Rear Wing/Hood scoop give this car a more aggressive look like the Eliminators came with from the factory. The Magnum 500's are in great driver condition, I was planning on buying a set of styled steel wheels for the shows if I were to keep it. I have also restored the wheel lip moldings and are now installed and look great (see picture in garage). All other trim is Original with some minor scratching, I also have all rear window moldings wich are restored and are also included, I was going to replace the Original rear window seal first and then install the new moldings. Rear/front bumpers rechromed. All serious bidders please email me for either my phone # or if you would like to see the marti Report, and also I have the Original invoice and window sticker, The new owner can find the Original build sheet under the carpet, the underlayment is still untouched and will be there for sure. Only serious bidders please, these auctions get very expensive relisting, a non-Refundable $2000 Deposit is due following auctions end and the balance in a cashiers check within a week of auctions end or cash when being picked up, The car is in a garage and will remain there until being transported, I can take additional pictures of any specific area but will be taken from in my garage due to the winter storms here on the East coast, 3 feet to be exact and still snowing, Again please email for phone # if seious about bidding, can help with shipping arrangements if you need any help, I know of several companies wich are very reasonable, I just shipped a car from Southern Cal to the East Coast for $900, Good Luck, Thanks!!On Feb-06-11 at 11:01:02 PST, seller added the following information: Thanks for all the Interest in my Cougar, if you have asked for the Marti-Report and did not receive it please send another request, I have several offers but will let the auction run to be fair to everyone, Please only bid if you are going to buy, If reserve is not met I may send a second chance offer Only to the highest bidder if higher than my offers, I also have the Original S-tube for the snorkel, was not installed when taking pictures, Good luck !!
