Vehicle Detail

Hello and thanks for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering trade in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next car through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over retail but cutting out the cost of the fancy lot, salesmens commission and all the other bull you end up paying for. I personally test drive each vehicle so that I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. I give my honest opinion of each vehicle and describe it thoroughly and accurately to the best of my knowledge and ability. I am human, though. That being said, please feel free to ask any questions you may have if I forgot to mention something or you just need clarification on something I said. I am happy to answer any question EXCEPT "what is your buy it now". I do not end auctions early...please don't ask me to. Local inspections are welcomed and encouraged if you're able to make it to York, PA. An administrative fee of $99 is added to the final amount of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a beautiful 1992 Toyota Camry XLE V6. The XLE is the top of the line for this generation of Camry and offers many features not found on lesser models. This one is finished in a brilliant silver exterior with matching alloy wheels and grey interior. The body of this car is in excellent condition and looks to have been well cared for. Other than a scratch above the emblem on the trunk, there really isn't anything bad to say about the body. There is NO RUST that I could find on this Camry either. Just look at the photos...this is a great looking car. Oh yeah, the drivers door handle is broken which is common. I already have a new replacement that I will try to have installed by the end of the auction. The interior of this car is in near perfect condition. The seats and carpets show almost no visible wear at all. The cloth on the retracting sunroof shade is loose at a very small section which you can barely see. You will find the original owners manual still in the glove box. This XLE model comes with power windows, locks, seat, sunroof and mirrors. The climate control is in proper working order. The factory stereo sounds great. The trunk is spacious and clean like the rest of the car. Mechanically, this car is in need of some attention. During my test drive of this car, I was cruising down the highway when I ran into some trouble. All within a matter of a minute, I lost heat, the engine temperature shot up to the red and I noticed a lot of smoke coming through the exhaust. I immediately pulled the car over and it was idling roughly. I sat for a while so it could cool down, then got it back to my warehouse quickly before it could overheat again. I'm not sure what to make of this. It's a textbook blown head gasket except the coolant in the tank is still green and the oil is not milky...plus these engines are not known for head gasket problems. My only thought could be that I shut it off before the oil and coolant had a chance to mix. I only ran it hot for about 30 seconds or so. I am friends with a seasoned Toyota technician and he said that I probably saved the engine because I shut it off so quickly. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts are perfect. It drives strait down the road with no pulling or vibrations and the brakes are great, too. I also noticed a loud clunking when I hit bumps. I could hear it behind me and feel it under me which suggests a broken exhaust hanger and the exhaust pipe probably banging on the frame when you hit bumps. That is very minor compared to the whole engine thing, lol. Bottom line...this is a beautifull, loaded Camry that was obviously well taken care of and is certainly worth fixing. This car should not be driven anywhere so pick up will have to be with a trailer or dolly. If you want this car and don't have a way of transporting it, I would be willing to deliver it for $1 per mile with a minimum charge of $100 because I would have to rent a trailer from U-Haul or something (I have a 48' trailer which is overkill for hauling one car). I know I'm gonna take a hit on this one but I don't fix cars up...I just buy and sell. I bought this car for the miles and condition, not knowing it was about to have a head gasket problem on my way home. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
