(most had the 305ci engine). This car I am told was originally purchased by Major General Douglas T. Nelson who owned the car until 1991 when he sold the car while living in Page, AZ. Major General Nelson has an interesting biography from 1921 to 2005 including flying in a (new in 1962) A-12 which was a highly swept Delta winged aircraft capable of Mach 3, and ferried the first SR71 trainer to Beale in Jan 1966. Lots of history!!!! Here is a link for anyone interested: http://www.wvi.com/~sr71webmaster/Nelson_Tribute.htm There is NO rust on this car. (Rust Free Arizona) :} No dents and no bondo in this car. I upgraded the engine to 406 ci and added a Weiand 177 supercharger and 10,000 RPM nitrous system. I drive this car about once or twice a year just to cruise the local car show run through town, but I do start it occasionally to keep it ready to go. This car is very dependable and can be driven without fear of issues. It gets the looks where ever it goes, and the rumble will get their attention if they are not already looking. Engine details: Weiand 177 Super Charger 10,000 RPM Nitrous kit 4 bolt main block O-ringed cylinders with copper wire ring for best sealing Solid Copper head gasket TRW flat top forged pistons Competition cam & lifters True double roller timing chain with teflon button and needle bearings 202 angle plug heads with very nice porting and hardened valve seats, bronze guides Holley 850 double pumper list 9380, with calibration kit Weiand aluminum high flow water pump Hooker super competition coated headers HEI ignition housing matched with MSD ignition control and MSD Blaster II coil Milidon tall valve covers Roller Rocker arms Double valve springs Aluminum air breather housing Milidon deep sump oil pan High volume oil pump High torque mini starter Trans: Tony's Transmissions built turbo 350 with 3000 stall converter. The trans is set up to put it in drive and hold the throttle down, no manual shifting required. The shift points are set a 6500 RPM at full throttle, so you dont have to worry about shifting manually (Less chance for human error). This makes the car very consistent in the quarter mile. Custom drive shaft with after market chrome molley yoke Suspension: South Side Machine Co. rear Suspension with heavy duty link settup and Pan hard bar Lakewood front racing shocks Rear end: narrowed 9" Ford Currie axles drilled for 5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern Long wheel studs Locking differential 390 gears Other: Drive shaft loop 1/2 inch full length fuel line from sumped fuel tank Braided stainless steel fuel and nitrous lines Dual fuel regulators Mallory Competition Series 250 racing fuel pump and canister filter rear mounted battery under car battery cut out switch at rear Aluminum vacuum canister for consistent braking Dual Flow Master mufflers and exhaust 4 core radiator Electric cooling fan as well as belt driven fan Nitrous bottle is mounted in rear, with relief tube Upgraded 5 hole Front disc brakes with 4 3/4 bolt pattern and long wheel studs Centerline aluminum racing wheels Line Lock Hood mounted fuel and boost guage Power steering and power brakes (Most cars that are comparable in performance do not have this luxury) This car is uncut with the exception of the hood. It is not tubbed, so it has the full original interior as well as the original factory paint. The drivers seat seperated at the thread on the lower cushion and was sewn back together. Other than that, the interior is very nice for its age. All the lights, guages, windows etc. work as they should, The body lines are nice as the body has never been taken apart. I took it to Speed World to see what it would do on street tires (I have never had slicks on the car) I left the line at only 1200 RPM and did not use the nitrous until I leveled out in 2nd gear. The car ran 12.09 without nitrous and 11.01 with nitrous in the quarter mile. Since I do not have a roll cage, I only used the nitrous once in fear of being told to leave. The car weighs 3200 lbs. I believe that if slicks were used and leaving the line at a higher RPM to utilize the stall converter, that the car could easily run in the low 10's or faster. This car pulls straight and is a pleasure to drive at the track or on the street. Even my wife enjoyed this one. The power brakes and power steering work fine. This was an air conditioned car, and can be converted back if need be. All the under dash parts are still in place. The rear seat folds down for hauling all those groceries which really improves the relationship with the wife as your always willing to make the run for her. I am 6'5" tall and fit the car just fine. I just rinsed off the car right before the pics, so that is why there is moisture showing in the under car pics. I really hate to sell it as it has been my best toy ever. I even sold my numbers matching 69 camaro and 70 big block chevelle before selling this, it means that much to me. I might consider part trade for nice roller, something I can drop an engine in and sell. I treat people like I want to be treated, so bid with confidence. I am located just off of I-40 outside Seligman, AZ. with easy access. I also have a nice inclosed 20 ft trailer with drop down ramp that I will offer to the winning bidder at a reasonable price. I require 500 deposit via paypal, and the balance in cash or paypal within 7 days. I may deliver for 1.50/loaded mile, but please ask first. Thanks!!!
