Vehicle Detail

Up for auction I have my 1976 Pontiac Trans Am.This car is fast and fun to drive. I must sell this car, I dont want to just have to. I'm loosing a lot of money becase of the times. Who ever buys it is getting a steal. The car is in excellent mechanical condition and can be driven anywhere. The car has all matching numbers and the orginal build sheet. Any performance modification that was done the original parts were saved (where applicable) so they could be reinstalled at a later time. The body is in very good condition with only minor dings here and there, no major damage. The paint is in good condition considering it is mostly original but has had some touch ups at one time over the years, it looks very nice for a 34 year old car. The interior is original and in very good condition. It has a new custom headliner and the dash has been recapped. There is a minor tear in the side of the driver seat, you can see it in the pics. The emblems could stand to be replaced at some time in the future. The grill has been painted gold, it looks cooler. The suspension has been totally rebuilt using parts from Pro-Touring F-Body, it has their solid body bushings, performance front end rebuild kit with super duty tie rod sleeves and super duty GT suspension kit with pro shocks. The upper and lower control arms were rebuilt by Quicker Suspension. It has bolt in sub frame connectors, engine bay G-brace and cowl brace with front sway bar brace also from Pro Touring. The only thing not replaced was the steering box. I was going to upgrade that next but haven't got to it. The car has American Racing Torque Thrust D wheels, I have the original rallys to go back on it. The rear-end is a 10 bolt posi with .370 gears. ENGINE The orginal engine was pulled out less than a 1000 miles ago pulled apart and is sitting on a shelf in the garage. At that time I also replaced the 100 mph speedo with a 160mph. The mileage on the original speedo was 62377.5 when I removed it. I believe this mileage to be original to the car. The original matching number engine that I have removed and still have is a 400 with a turbo 350 transmission. The turbo 350 was gone through and shift kitted at the time of the new engine. The engine in the car right now is a Jim Butler performance 462 stroker engine, this uses: 1974 400 block 4.25 crank H beam rods forged dish pistons 9.5 to 1 compression w/46 heads comp cam cca-51-222-4 cam and cam kit balanced and blueprinted michigan 77 bearings, true roller timing set with billet gears HEADS The heads are #46 castings, 1969 - 428 cu They have been fully port and polished and cc'd. They have had screw in studs and guide plates, hardened seats installed. The valves are Ferrea racing valves. The intakes are 2.11 and the exhaust are 1.77. The engine has an Edelbrock performer manifold and the original quadrajet was rebuilt using a kit from Cliff's hi performance quadrajets. The card could still use a little fine tuning as I have moved and there has been a big drop in altitude. The exhaust is from Ram Air Restorations using their over size cast iron headers that have 2 1/2" pipe with crossovers and a pair of Spin Tec mufflers going all the way out the rear. This is a very fast car and is fun to drive and gets alot of compliments at the local cruises and shows. Oh...I almost forgot the car has a killer stereo with a Nakamichi 6 disc in dash player, the trunk has a box with 2 10" woofers, power amp and a couple of good 6x9's. The main thing that needs to be done with the car is the spedometer needs to be recalibrated because of the low gears. The car is being sold as is- where is with no warranty expressed written or implied. The winning bidder is to pay a $1500.00 non-refundable deposit within 72 hours of the end of the auction. Balance to be paid in full within 7 days of the end of the auction. The winning bidder must make arrangements to pick the car up in person or arrange for a transportation company. I am more than happy to work with any shipper and can store the vehicle for a reasonable amount of time. I have put a very reasonable reserve as I have over 25K invested in the car and over 6K just in the engine. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking and good luck!
