1938 McLaughlin-Buick Special, Series 40. 4-door sedan, trunk back body style -- an Art Deco era beauty, manufactured at the Buick plant in Ontario, Canada. Original drive train (straight 8 cylinder engine, 3-speed manual transmission on floor) with approximately 70k miles. Converted from 6 volt to 12 volt electrical system. Aftermarket air conditioning added. Repainted in 2008. Interior seat covers and door panels redone by previous owner. Dynomat sound/heat protection added to floors and firewall under marine-grade carpet. Running boards are nice custom items made of painted hardwood; unrestored original metal running boards are available with sale. Previous owner purchased from a museum collection in Canada, and we purchased on eBay and shipped to Savannah, GA in 2006. Running boards, teardrop headlights and wide white wall tires make for beautiful pre-war styling accents. Currently used as a wedding transportation car, driven weekly. Intermittent operation of speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge; clock is inop but appears complete. We encourage all bidders to view the vehicle in person before placing a bid.
