Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette that is ready to be restored and driven. I know in the pictures it looks red but it is orange. According to my research this vette was just the 4,247th 1968 vette made. The trim tag shows the numbers: Chev DC9 Trim 414 Paint 978. What I was able to decipher from the internet means it started out as International Blue Exterior and Med Blue Vinyl Interior. Do not know if it runs. Towed it home after we bought it and have done nothing to it. It has a 396 big block engine with headers. On the back of the engine block are the numbers 3855961. Does it work? Don't know. It has a Edelbrock Performer 2-0. Has dual feed Holley 4-barrel carb. Has Mickey Thompson finned aluminum valve covers. Has an aluminum 4 speed transmission with Hurst shifter. My husband was unable to jack car up to get the numbers. Showing and registered as having 66968 miles. Think this is a L88 Hood. Factory speedometer and tach plus a box with what we believe are all factory gauges. Alot of other pieces are in this box too. Also a new clock, we think. Original spare tire cover is still under the car. All windows are intact. Both side windows are Astro Ventilation glass, probabily original. There is a bag containing a complete carpet kit. Car has T-Tops and removeable rear window. Have bumpers but they are not on car. See pictures. Complete dual exhaust appears to be factory. Frame and body looks solid and straight. No rust throught in frame. Some small surface rust. Paint is shiny but has some runs and chipping. This is being sold AS IS. We have a 1955 Chevy Belair show car and we bought this to restore too, but my husband found out he needed surgery and total recovery will take 6 months to a year so I suggested he sell it rather than just let it sit. I'm afraid he would not be content to just look at it without trying to tinker with it. Believe me, he hates to let it go. For someone it would be the perfect start for a great restoration or a great hot rod. I accept paypal and a $1000.00 deposit is required with 48 hours of auction ending. The balance is due within 7 days. Shipping or local pickup is the responsibilty of the winning bidder. And car must be paid in full before any shipping or delivery takes place. My husband is willing to personally deliver the car (in our enclosed trailer) at a cost of $2.50 per mile within a 250 miles radius of our home and you would have to be there to assist him. I am also selling this locally so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Please email with any questions or you can call my husband Marty at (703) 350-2576. But please no calls after 9:00 pm EST. If you live locally and would like to view the car, just call for an appointment. Thanks for Looking !!!
