Vehicle Detail

This Old Honda is a very nice survivor of the early seventies Japanese motorcycle invasion. She not only looks great but she starts and runs great! We cleaned, polished and shined this bike, then dropped a new battery in it, cleaned and adjusted the carbs, put new tires on it and started it and drove it around the neighborhood. She runs amazing.....and is mostly original with some NOS parts. The key word here is "unrestored" that means that although she is in amazing condition, it is a 39 year old vehicle and has some slight imperfections that are not easily seen from 5 feet, but on close inspection the bike will be visable. all in all I think we did a very nice job of "resurrecting" the old Scrambler. Check out the photos and see what you think.....some say it looks like a new bike: The engine number is CL450-5015967 The front fender has a few Krinkles on it, the chrome on the rear fender is scratched where the license plate goes, there is some rust "acne" on the front turn signals, the top heat shield on the muffler is a bit wrinkled, the seat is in great condtion but is missing one of the brackets that secure the seat to the frame. It does not affect the bike when the seat is in riding position and you could easily find the missing piece for it. I replaced the speedometer that was on the bike when I bought it with a different speedo I bought off ebay thinking that was the problem for the speedo not working, ( the old speedo showed 4,800 on it but I tossed it out in the trash thinking it was broken now I think the front speedo cable just needs to be replaced... the previous owner did say it worked when he put it into storage two years ago, It has not been ridden since then until I got it running this month. There are some other imperfections that you might expect (most of the cables are cosmeticaly worn and work but look bad.) from a 39 year old motorcycle that has been ridden regularly up until a few years ago. It really has been loved and cared for by it's previous two owners..... and it shows!! I haven't seen a seventies Honda in this nice of condition in quite some time! Five years ago the second owner who had owned the bike for 15 years, replaced the front fork rubber dust covers, replaced the tank and sidecovers with a brand new fuel tank and side cover from a Honda dealer that had these on his shelf for 30 some years, they still look like new with no fading, scratches, dings or dents or cracks. Near perfect! All electrics work on the bike but the horn is a quiet....maybe could be adjusted? I have posted more photos & a video on my photobucket site so you can zoom in and get a more detailed view of the bike and also hear it start and run. Just copy and paste this link to your internet browser window. s560.photobucket.com/albums/ss49/jwalte01/72%20CL450/ Unfortunately, the family of the second owner (who passed away last year)could not find the title for this bike so it will be sold with a bill of sale only Please, please, please be sure that you have the money to purchase the bike if you are bidding. All the inspections must be done before the auction closes. Keep in mind that this classic bike is 39 years old. Please remember that things always seem to look better in pictures. So you are more than welcome to come see it in person, and if you are not sure, please don’t bid. As I am expressing how I see the vehicle. Your bid is your contract. Please place bids only if you are serious about buying the item. If you have the winning bid, you are entering into a legal binding contract to purchase the item. We require a $500 non-refundable deposit immediately after the bidding closes, and the remaining balance within a week. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. All of this being said please take a look at the pictures and ask any questions you may have. Or come by and check it out in person before you bid. The bike will be sold as is, with no warranty or guarantee. We reserve the right to cancel any bid for excessive negative feedback. And I may also advertise & sell it locally so the auction could end for a local saleOn Jan-01-11 at 15:39:26 PST, seller added the following information: Correction: The speedometer does indeed work but it does make a humming noise and I am sure if you put a new cable on the bike it will work fine. The old speedometer was for sure not working...the bike actually has a just a few miles over 4,800 on it. I added a video of the bike starting and running to my photobucket site so be sure to check it out! Someone is going to end up with a very nice Vintage Japanese Classic bike!
