Vehicle Detail

FOR AUCTION: 1993 FORD BRONCO XLT 4X4. I am selling my long time, very used and very functional Ford Bronco. I have too many vehicles and only use this vehicle for around town and short trips now, so I can get by with one less in the drive-way. This is a typical rusty, but functional transport for that year. It needs some work to be a nice ride but if you just need to get from "A" to "B" this is an option for you. It does have the captains chairs and central console, so it is a very comfortable ride, even if not that pretty! We'll start off with the bad: As of last winter the four wheel drive unit does not engage. Has worked for years and now it makes a clattering sound and does not engage? I took it to a shop and they opened up the transfer case and said the lube was clean with no signs of metal shavings. I had them change the lube, but that didn't change the sound or the ability to engage. The mechanic said it could be a solenoid but I did not want to go to the expense to have it changed as I have another pick-up 4 x 4 when I need it for snow/ice. I still use this vehicle to go to the gym, run around town and drive back and forth on a daily basis. If it sits too long the battery goes flat. This problem has been there since I purchased the vehicle years ago and likely is a bad diode on the alternator or an electric bleed somewhere else. Battery is still good and when driven daily, is not a problem. The front windshield is cracked and should be replaced someday. I have used it this way for since I purchased it. Last bad thing is it is rusty in all the Bronco rusty spots. Tires are worn. Paint on hood is all coming off down to primer. Looks like someone did a poor spray or something as it sort of peels off, but again, has been like that for years and doesn't seem to have any rust in the hood. Needs some interior dash lights replaced and the center dome light. I noticed the vehicle reports shows an accident. I guess that is why the bumper in the back is bent and low on the left side, but the car tracks fine and drives well, just so you know!!!! Good side: Most everything works! The A/C is cold and works well. I turn it on once a month to make sure the seals remain sealed. No noise in the compressor. Shifts great with the Automatic transmission. Brakes were redone last year and it stops fine. Engine starts on first crank even in the cold and it uses one quart of oil between each 3000 mile oil change. Rear window works, but needs to have one of the glass holders re-welded, which I will try and do prior to the trucks departure. If not, I will refund $50.00 to the buyer for someone else to do it. Upholstry is worn but not torn. It appears to be leather. Radios is a Ford AM/FM/casette that I installed and it is an original type that works 100%. Speedometer works, gas gauge works as well as ammeter, temp. gauge, and oil pressure gauge. It has a tachometer that works fine. Cruise control works, horn works, signals work, high/low beem works and indicator works. Windshild wipers are tempramental and sort of work when they are in a good mood (should be looked at). The windshield wiper washers work fine and spray nicely. Power mirror adjustment work as do the power door locks. It also has a tilt wheel which works fine. I did have it tightened up a few months ago as it was feeling a bit loose, but feels okay now. Tire size matches but they are different types. The front two match and the back to match each other! So that is this neat ol' full size Bronco's story. I bought it in Madison, Wisconsin a few years ago and have really enjoyed it. I was saving it for my girlfriends son to drive, but he ended up wanting a pick-up so he went that route. Please be advised, I travel a lot and you will need to pick up the truck either before January 12 or after January 23, 2011, as I will be out of the country. Full payment is required within 72 hours after the end of the auction via cash, money order, or PayPal. This is a low-reserve auction so please bid to buy. No bidders with less than a 5 positive feed-back without contacting me. Delivery is the new owner's responsibility, but again, full payment required prior to pick up and within 72 hrs of end of auction. Thanks for looking. Mike @ Vanishing Species, Inc.
